BBQ meat from burnt wood. Rubber, chocolate, red earth. Umami + fried oil, smells like those Indonesian prawn crackers. Salty, light pear. Barnyard after sip
    • Taste
      88 88
Rich dried fruits, orange, syrup. Sweeter as I chew. Almost not spicy. Earthy. Med body
    • Finish
      87 87
Pepper. Sweet & sour fruit jam. Smoky. Light coloured wood smell and bitterness

A peaty sherry on the dry side. Very good.
    • Nose
Peat smoke, medicinal notes, ashes, coastal notes, smoked meat. Whiffs of leather, lemons and herbal notes.
    • Taste
Oily and ashy. Earthy peat, lemons, brine, spices and bonfire. Roasted coffee notes too.
    • Finish
Long, drying, ashy. Lingering earthy peat.

It started with punchy, vinegar-like acidity, with lemon zest oil, followed by cranberries jam, caramel and kelp and iodine. Then it came with notes of barn and farm, Chinese ink, toffee and bacon smokiness. Not to be missed were the violet and jasmine tea freshness, which were commonly found in modern peated whisky IMO.
    • Taste
      88 88
Powerful, bold, oily but not being unforgettably rich, with mild tannin. Syrupy sweet along with concentrated lemon juice, vinegar and seasalt. Extinguished bonfire, which then mitigated and gave way to the brine, cranberry jam and a hint of peanut as well as the chrysantinum tea.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium to long finishing, and drying, with a soapy palate. Cigar ashes, burnt wood and the peanut suggesting its youthfulness. The kelp and brine surfaced, and I was reminded of pu-er also.

Overall: I bought this bottle at a very good price not long ago. After I opened it, I didn't take down notes immediately. I shared a lot. Now there is 150ml left.

Nose: Pine nut oil, direct, strong and warm peat is the main note, but it does not have the cresol signal of Ai Lei. Seafood, minerals, detergent, sand and stone, ripeness, and balance are all good, ebony plum, bonbon chocolate, hints of a little dirty, like smelly boots, metal pipes covered with oil, seaweed, no smell of stage fright, performance good.

Drink: slight oil, warm taste, salty and fresh, peat, cryptic juice, sweetness of medicinal materials, lemon, fortunately not bitter, long lasting rhyme.
