    Blind tasting of a sample.
    • Nose
Ripe plum, cherry, orange Tic-Tac, toffee, raisin, dried apricot, leather, milk chocolate, vanilla, lime, liquorice and honey. A very rich nose that gives a more mature impression than the whisky's actual age.
    • Taste
Orange, toffee, cherry, marshmallow, raspberry, prune, raisin, mocha and citrus. A lot less mature than the nose, but still very enjoyable.
    • Finish
Caramel, orange, almond, cherry and a whiff of smoke.

strong coffee liqueur on first nose, followed by vanillated sugar, sweet pastries and herbal bitters.. fruits arrive fashionably late with dried apricots (thank you, KayMeertens), cherries, overripe plums and a hint of smoke.. slightly smoked, dried plums soaking in coffee-spiked spirit, that’s it!
    • Taste

strong sherry attack.. sweet, but first intensely dry.. like eating a raw, hot chili pepper that ends nicely..
    • Finish
      88 88
quite elegant, along leather and mahogany wood.. or what i imagine this particular wood would taste like if i took a bite from a very old piece of furniture

Nose: Sherry monster. A touch of red wine, hint of grass, some oak. Quite a alcohol burn to go through tough. Some spices and nettle tea. With water (9ml on 30ml sample): more wood and some spice. Yet still a sherry monster. hint of shoe polish.

Taste: Dark chocolate arrival, burst of sherry notes, sweetness of the oak, some nuts, five spice, cinnamon, pepper. With water: everything gets more developed and a less aggressive.

Body: Full and rounded. a bit oily but only when you add water

Finish: long: Heavy sherry. Some chocolate, dark leather notes, hint of tobacco.

Price: This one is twice the original price (50 euro's) nowadays, a bit exaggerated.

Presentation: This was a sample, but all recent bottles are decent.

    • Taste
8,4 Lekko cierpka z nutami wiśni, śliwki oraz agrestu z odrobiną kakao i cynamonu.
    • Finish
8,5 Dobrej długości, ciepły z nurami wiśni oraz pomarańczy z odrobiną białego pieprzu oraz gałki muszkatołowej.

Young, fiery and long in the mouth. Not complex but easily drinkable. A beautiful batch.
    • Nose
Dried fruits (walnut wine), red fruits (strawberries and grenadine), figs. We feel the influence of a sherry cask but we also feel the wood with a lot of vanilla.
    • Taste
      Powerful, sweet. On grenadine.
    • Finish

A'bunadh has always been one of my all time favorites and this is no different. Fantastic stuff and I'll never tire of this.
    • Nose
Chocolate is the first thing I get. Heavy, dry sherry and oaky sharpness. Cinnamon spice, coffee liqueur, dark cooked fruits, raisins and lots of spice.
    • Taste
So very dry, but after the gums and tongue regain sense, mouth watering to no end. That's when an explosion of sweet flavors comes out; Cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, dark sweet fruits, malt, coffee, leather, maybe even some faint mint.
    • Finish
Long, sweet, lovely. Drying sherry, chocolate and caramel sweetness, the fruits are more winey now, raisins, cherries and grapes.

A real delightful sherry beast! Very full and rounded balance.

A little water makes it even better!

Taste: raisins, coffee, orange peel, spicy,

    Finish: long, drying

What a whisky ! It's almost too bad to share this whisky with other people, even with your best friends. You would prefer to drink it all by yourself....but civilisation and politeness tells you NOT to do it. Wished I was NOT civilized and NOT polite...
    • Nose
After the strong alcohol: lots of sherry. Slightly malty, vanilla honey and oak.
After adding 3 teaspoons of water: Sherry, malt and hints of vanilla and white chocolate.
    • Taste
Liquorice is strongly present. After the "alcohol-explosion" sherry appears, accompanied by honey. Very mouthfilling !
After adding 3 teaspoons of water: a not expected softness because of the high alcoholpercentage (60!). Clearly honey and sherry but also hints of liquorice and banana. Light peppery.
    • Finish
Pepper !! Then liquorice and then sherry and honey.
After adding 3 teaspoons of water: slightly bitter and peppery. After that a very pleasant sweetness. Honey and custard and in the end butter candies. Longlasting.
