    tropical thing.
    • Nose
Slight motor oil, sour and a fruity spiciness. strange. Smells like when you wonder what the neighbors are cooking... only in good.

      So different...now marshmallow. Really nice.
For 40% a fairly powerful nose with some ethereal touch. Fresh.
    • Taste
Spicy, creamy and somehow slightly sour and dry but at the same time sweet marshmallow. Oha, there was a tropical fruit grade. Dry coconut? Or even bitter passion fruit...
    • Finish
Fruit and marshmallow plus caramel. Dry and slightly bitter.

I have what Campletown is said to have with its "funk" here. But this is probably due to the relatively short maturation in the Taiwanese climate.
The malt leaves me torn; on the one hand he can do something, on the other hand not for very long.
I don't like the nose at all at first, but it gets better and better over time; the taste then somehow weak due to the 40% and yet you get an alcoholic sharpness on the tongue with the first sip.
The weak point of this malt is the practically non-existent finish.
[86 - 82 = good whisky -> get (second) bottle? Maybe...] in that case the sample is enough for me and I'm richer by one experience that I don't need a whole bottle here.

"Dirty", sweetish sherry aromas, which sting the nose very unpleasantly for 40%.
The sherry aromas (plums, raisins, dates) have something strange about them, it's difficult to describe - somehow "impure".
There is also a yellow, mealy apple; with a lot of delay also a fermenting cherry and something tropical fruity like mango, papaya.
The "dirty" aroma gives way a little to the honey and caramel. More and more seasoning perceptible at the back.
    • Taste
      82 82
very soft, slightly spicy, the alcoholic sting is delayed, warming in the throat; fermented fruits. Sherry flavors remain subdued but noticeable. Spice comes up more.
2nd Sip: again very soft (you notice the "only" 40%). Fruits, sherry (especially dark cherries) are there, but they quickly level off again.
    • Finish
      79 79
Flattens out relatively quickly at the back; Apart from a few tannins and spice, practically everything else is quickly gone.
becoming sour; Leathery and dry tobacco aroma.

Slightly milder and not quite as sweet as the Port Cask. Great finish
    • Nose
      strong nose, full-bodied, pleasantly sweet
    • Taste
silky, sweet, mild, then a strong spiciness slowly builds up
    • Finish
short finish with lots of wood. The sherry cask comes through really well here.

Fruity, bourbon and clearly sherry. Very nice nose with some almond. Slight rum. Some moss. Lightly burned wood.
    • Taste
      85 85
Wow...fruity-sweet and strong of marshmallow. Papaya.
    • Finish
      83 83
Quite short, a bit spicy...slightly sweet sherry with some figs.

  6. Sporx scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

    Aroma
Cherry, slightly spicy, chocolate, alcoholic spiciness

    The taste
Sweetish, spicy wood, cherry, bitter notes

    aftertaste
Medium length, pepper, cherry, spicy, a little watery

    On 3/18/23 from 82 to 84
