- This is from 1999
Salt, sea fresh breeze
Salt fudge chocolate
- Body; Full , textured.
Toffee, bitter chocolate, and toasted nuts, with late salt and pepper.
Toffeeish, then toasty. The richness of these flavours introduces a shock of contrast when the seaweed and pepper suddenly burst through.
Powerful salt and pepper.
- A dreamy whisky that looks much older than it is.
Something Old Bottle Flavor, musty oak, somehow velvety, a little sandalwood. Suddenly a bit scary. One can guess the candied orange peels, the peat almost not anymore, rather a diffuse maritime touch and a surprising hint of butter and rosemary.
buttery, slightly menthol, a lot of oak, a slightly salty note is included. In the mouth he is pretty closed.
gentle oak, not too much. The oak looks somehow old, a little orange, a slight sweet note sticks to the palate, later mint.
- A very nice Talisker wich is nicely rounded because of the double maturation
Gentle, winey, sweetness, red/black fruit (cherries), mild smokeyness with a certain complexity.
Gentle start then an explosion of peat with a creamyness.
Warm, intense, pepery and long
- A big movie theater
a lot of sherry paired with seasoning and oak
juicy-sweet sherry ... I think the sherry influence is more pronounced than the newer bottlings
a lot of salty spray
Raisins, prunes and baked apple with filling (nuts, marzipan and almonds)
Smoke ... yes? No? maybe
spicy start followed by a pronounced sweetness
a lot of fat, juicy sherry (a bit reminiscent of Glendronach)
distant, tender smoke settles on the palate
long, spicy with oak
- warm fruity Talisker with chili catch
the Talisker freshness is missing
very harmonious and complex
I touched the sky
Walnuts in sherry
in the background the sea water in warm pools on the beach
then the salty iodine-containing silt from the Wadden Sea
colorful pepper, some nutmeg
a floral touch, some flower water
very subtle and changeable the nose
the smoke is more a wallpaper, like bog and salt that burns
a chilli catch greets your tongue
colorful pepper with chocolate burn smoky in your mouth
burst cherries in hot spicy brine flows into your cheeks
some liquorice and a lot of chocolate powder
a smoky glow in your throat
like from an old wooden barrel
warm pleasant finish
fruity spicy wood
on the palate oak
a beautiful harmonic Talisker finish
- Nose: Smokier than the 10's (but of course no comparison to Islay), BBQ campfire smoke, you immediately think of a barbecue on the beach, tea-fruit mix (forest berries), baking apples, seasoning like a warm fruit punch in winter , subtle oak wood
Taste: spicy on the palate, tingling and peppery, but immediately fights a nice juicy fruit note (cold fruit tea) against it. Also some salt and a bitter oak note join it. In the wonderfully long finish, the smoke announces itself again and the seasoning (Chilli) is already significantly mitigated.
Wonderful whisky - that's how a Talisker must be. Strong and fruity at once. Wonderful harmonious dream whisky!
