Overall, it is very pleasing and also extremely harmonious. It's hard to believe that this was bottled at just under 53%. I had only hoped for a little more with regard to the extremely long maturing period. In the blind tasting, I would have guessed at around 15-17 years. But I can well imagine that bottling will gain a lot from oxidation.
Sweet and also very nice spicy on the nose. The alcohol is well integrated.
Vanilla sugar, persipan, cake batter, slightly unripe bananas, dried apricots, honey, pistachios, caramelized almond sticks, white pepper, malt, a hint of mint, ground hazelnuts, delicate oak spice.
Sweet and sour with a touch of the tropics. Very smooth start. Excellent integrated alcohol, very creamy body.
Vanilla, lemon zest, coconut, melon, pineapple, juicy sultanas, nougat, white pepper, malt, lemon slices, oak spice.
Mid-length finish. Vanilla, pineapple, barley sugar, oak spice. Very slightly dry towards the end.
