  1. Boletus did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

Also with this Rye ''The Westfalian'' convinces me all along the line. Although it strictly follows the path taken from the beginning and is therefore in no way complex, it is delicious without exception.
    • Nose
Speaks to me immediately with its classic rye simplicity, juicy rye bread crumbs with butter and a thick layer of forest honey, next door a crunchy spiced bread is taken out of the oven, crushed coriander seeds, a pinch of allspice, minimal traces of cinnamon, dark caramel, brown baked cookies with Oatmeal as well as maple syrup and pecans, very pleasant, unobtrusive oak with a good deal of vanilla in its luggage, for me this is a real feel-good aroma
    • Taste
The smell is continued one to one, a massive piece of caramel melts in the mouth, a hearty bite into the rye-spice bread with forest honey releases fine spicy notes, coriander seeds, allspice and nutmeg, spicy and nutty, some fruity hints flash, these go into In the direction of unsweet applesauce with cinnamon, the oatmeal cookies were in the oven a bit too long, which means that some of the pecans are now more than just browned, the oak wood shows its beautiful side almost free of bitter substances, but with all the more vanilla and brown sugar, a bit of liquorice is also involved
    • Finish
Long finish with a lot of rye spice and dry oak, this is surrounded by a thin layer of charcoal, thick caramel and molasses, bready and very slightly leathery, the spices led by coriander seeds with some cinnamon and allspice are quite persistent and are accompanied by brown sugar and more expressive vanilla
