Blindly I would have mistaken this grain whiskey for a rye whisky. Unfortunately, it was too harsh and tart for me to really enjoy it.
    • Nose
      78 78
Sweetness like wilted flowers, health food, something pungent on the nose, bread grain and the aromas are reminiscent of rye whiskey.
    • Taste
      78 78
Slightly harsh in the mouth, tart and chicory, rye flavors again.
    • Finish
      76 76
Dry, sweet-tart notes, astringent notes of wood and oak. Liquorice without sugar, liquorice, , chicory, bitter, fresh hazelnuts and leaves a bitter feeling in the throat.

Bosch Gelber Fels Weizen Whiskey 2014 - 2020, 6 years. Spirit of The Cask (whiskey parlor). 60.9% alc. Expansion: French limousine oak
Other information: 70% wheat and 30% barley malt

Nose: He needs a little air, then aromas of wheat beer and banana juice unfold. Lots of grain, damp hay, a touch of crumbly apple. Over time it becomes milder, porridge and vanilla appear.

Palate: initially creamy and sweet, the banana is back, with crumbly apples. It gets stronger quickly, oak, nutmeg and a touch of pepper come with it, dark chocolate rounds off. The alcohol is strong and has a tingly mouthfeel after the first few seconds.

Finish: very long and warming, tingling. The oak is very present, slightly bitter, plus some grain, the banana hardly shows up.

Conclusion: round and harmonious. Once you get used to the alcohol content, you can really enjoy this whiskey. From my point of view, he doesn't need water. Incidentally, I particularly like the transparency of the filling process. 80/100 points (2021).
