The smell is very classic. Once again it is confirmed for me that Glenlivet smells like whisky generally smells to me. For me, Glenlivet is the representative for Scotch Single Malt Whisky. If someone asked me what does whisky smell like, I could answer: like Glenlivet. I like that.
The taste goes perfectly with the nose and reflects what it promises. The finish is a little less complex but rounds everything off nicely.
    Well done Glenlivet.
    • Nose
Peach, freshly felled wood, vanilla, autumn leaves, a little orange, in the background a little grass, pepper, grain
    • Taste
Starts out mild, but develops strong, sweet and piquant at the same time, again peach and orange, some chocolate with orange peel, malt, bread, peach jam, apple
    • Finish
Wood, sweet, honey, delicate bitterness, bitter orange, grain, satisfactorily long

Simple (but not too easy either!) A totally pleasing, extremely appealing pleasure.
    • Nose
Very attractive malty roasted aromas spread out voluminously and expansively. There is also juicy orange and a very fine barrel flavor. A successful interaction. Everything is in perfect balance.
    • Taste
It is fruity-malty with a nice crunchy bite. Again I have sweet and juicy orange and well-dosed oak aromas. It never becomes too bitter, it always remains very nicely malted with barley.
    • Finish
The same goes on in terms of aroma. Creamy, chocolatey milk, it covers the entire oral cavity. Lively, always relaxed fruit acidity and freshness strike me as particularly positive. In the back, for me, it is pleasantly discreet in the direction of raspberry chewing gum. A pleasantly sweet ending.

Dominik Braun has described this whisky very well. This is way better than any of the Glenlivet's dilluted 12y expressions targetting beginners. I love the complexity, oily texture, and most of all the fair price (becomes very rare nowadays, unfortunately). Well done, Glenlivet!

    Well done Pernod Ricard.
Age specification, non chill filtered, 48% and that for 41, - € (July 2021).
As if from a long time ago.
    • Nose
      86 86
Nice fruity nose that needs some time in the glass to shed its coat. Ripe pears with a hint of almond yoghurt. Malty sweetness, berries, lots to discover. You have to deal with it.
    • Taste
      87 87
Fresh, clear and malty. Clear Speyside notes. Fruit, sweetness, some pickled ginger and zest. A malt for my friends, for my good friends, to start a tasting evening.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium length, with no surprises. The impression of the mouth extends into the throat. Stay sweet, little oak. At the end a light citrus-like bitterness.

A real snapper for the money!

Fresh & fruity, pear, floral. Everything happens, not spectacular but nicely balanced. Accessible, tasty whisky
