Wow, I really like that. Wonderfully grassy and floral in the nose. Morning dew on alpine meadows. The lilies on Grandma’s window and her rose soap. Liquid honey and light hints of lemongrass. Fresh rye bread. In the mouth with perfect drinking strength and nice and creamy. Also here very grassy and flowery, but also with a nice bitter touch. The age is unmistakable. Bread spice and rose water. Slightly bitter. Chicory. Wood. The finish is dry, pleasantly spicy, coriander seeds, clove pepper, wet wood and soapy water. Once again great noses from the guys from WDC and WN! Like a symphony of Littlemill, old Cragganmore and 80s Bowmores (just a tiny touch). 91 points

the notes may read strangely - the whisky is delicious - it offers a special journey from coarse dirty flavors to very tasty yellow fruits with a special magic - especially on the palate there is always a dusty wood note over everything, you may perceive it as a false note - I think that especially

fresh in the glass I would rather give 84 points but it is getting better and better in the glass, give it time
    • Nose
      90 90
grassy, lemongrass, dirty - old machine oil, old workshop rags, a typical dirty Lediag / Tobermory / Springbank acid, wallpaper paste, cardboard boxes, a bit mineral, a touch of painted citrus drops, tangerine with peel and orange oil, the smell of mold - like the dust on moldy oranges
    • Taste
      91 91
tickles like sparkling wine, doesn't burn anything here, a very special mixture of old book spines, dry attic, dry, half-decomposed wood with a low calorific value, yellow fruits, crystalline, brilliant, vanilla, also dried fruits and syrupy compote
    • Finish
      91 91
a lot of dry wood, slightly bitter, also here still tasty yellow fruit, the finish builds up more and more with each additional drop - becomes more and more luscious and longer

Attention - the wood note does not go away from the tongue even after half a liter of Hasen Kellerbier - clean :)

The stuff is definitely for nerds and not for quick enjoyment
    • Nose
      90 90
Creamy vanilla, cookie dough, embedded in grassy-flowery notes, a short walk through the garden at home, a few herbs and earthy root vegetables
    • Taste
      85 85
Extremely bitter, woody, with earthy notes in between, initially a light mint freshness on the tongue which then turns into 90% dark chocolate
    • Finish
      86 86
short on the palate, long-lasting bitterness on the tongue

A real palate flatterer that doesn't come across as intense in the nose. All in all a good drop with mature performance, but not an over-wonderful dram either.
    • Nose
      88 88
So that's what the otter smells like - where? ;)
In any case, slightly animalistic to industrial notes that "beguile" the nose here. However, this intensity is balanced reasonably well by fruit notes.
    • Taste
      89 89
Ripe grapes, pickled gooseberries and elderflower syrup in the mouth - very sweet.
    • Finish
      87 87
Well, it's good, but not exactly fireworks - it quickly becomes fragile, but remains harmonious.

Yay, I like it..! the fruity-malty-grassy-with-a-pinch-of-violets nose is okey, but the palate is where it’s at.. medicine-bitter, waxy cardboard and spicy, fizzy oak.. sorry, i haven’t touched Littlemill yet (my association would be to one of those 95/96 Ben Nevises from the bourbon cask) and I don’t get any off notes, so i cannot really join the chorus of reviewers dealing on these issues.. however i do get a sort of subtle, creamy yumminess that lasts for a long time!

A very interesting malt that is anything but ordinary. It was really exciting to taste it. But it doesn't quite meet my taste. It doesn't have to be a whole bottle of it, but I would try again.
    • Nose
Honeycomb. Warm cereal notes. Stone meal. Citric acid powder. Orangebiscuits. Orange jam on butter toast. Vanilla. Sugar beet. Wet cardboard. Clay. Maybe removes fennel. Meadow herbs. Lemon balm.
    • Taste
It tingles. Something like fizzy powder (lemon and orange). Sprite. Then yellow apple glazed in butter. A little brittle. Floral echoes. Dusty bookshelf. Paper mache. Modeling clay. Wood wort.
    • Finish
Rotten Boskoop apple. Rotten wood and moss. A mineral that is reminiscent of Riesling. Neat oak.

not my favorite profile in whisky but still (very) good with its own/unqiue profil.

gets better with warmth and time
(like nearly all drams. this one benefits so very much from it)
