I think it needs a good amount of time with air in the bottle to show its potential, when I tasted it freshly opened a while ago I wasn't that enthusiastic, but today it really picked me up, super exciting and tasty whisky than Ardbeg fans will also get their money's worth here
    • Nose
Oranges come to mind first, also lemon, sweet, the whole thing mixes with a rather creamy note of caramel, everything is slightly burned, greasy, I like it right away, also pepper, shisha tobacco, the smoke is in wax bedded, some waffle biscuits, hazelnut, beautiful, changes in the glass
    • Taste
Creamy, cherry, sweet, red, caramel, ashy smoke, tobacco, sticky, some chocolate, lemon on the palate, decent cinnamon, overall dominated by sweetness with a dash of lemon, then the smoke hides behind it and the other flavors, very straight forward Appears before he changes in the exit and clearly reveals what kind of barrel he was in
    • Finish
Tickles at the tip of the tongue, sweet but otherwise sour, exciting, now also slightly tart, vanilla, now I have the full Ardbeg Ten feeling in my mouth, nice

  2. Don Cassi scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

The nose opens with slightly fermenting dried fruits, wood polish, wet wood and some smoldering rubber.

In the mouth, the alcohol provides intensity without annoying burning, spicy-fruity notes line the palate.

In the finish, there is initially a surge of ash, which is then replaced by spicy oak. In the background there is a slight note of damp cardboard. At the end there is a fine pepperiness.
    Length: 5/10

Overall nice malt, which partly transports both the sherry barrel and the Ardbeg character, but still maintains the basic character of German whisky. But grossly overpriced at the called price.

    Grade: 2+

Another interesting German whisky, but I don't like the smoky Westfalians quite as much as those from the ex-sherry barrel whisky barrels, which is confirmed here by way of example.

Smoke, gum and iodine. Clearly citrus fruits. Initially still sweet, then changing to sour. Mint and campfire.
    • Taste
      86 86
Spicy and smoky, savory, marzipan. The alcohol is strong, but still well integrated.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium-long finish, with slightly burning alcohol. Smoke, malt and sweetness are found.

Ash, canned fruit cocktail, slug pellets

Lawn fertilizers, weed killers and dried fruit. Short. Lots of ash
