Many of my friends told me that Springbank's sherry is not pure and has a sulfur flavor, but this one is my favorite refilled sherry cask I have ever tasted, and the sherry cask flavor does not mask the malt flavor of Sringbank itself.

    • Nose
      soft, full-bodied, rich:

a lot of dried fruits like raisins, plums, figs, sherry notes, tropical hints, boiled sweets, reminiscence of smoke, orange jam
    • Taste
semi-sweet with sherry notes, fruity: pears, mineral/chalk, tropical?: boiled ananas, a little bit smoky, oak, spice, comlpex and excellent rounded
    • Finish
semi-dry with fruity notes and smooth oak, rounded and rich, a little bit chalky and mineral with hints of smoke and sherry

I tasted it with the 15 from 2020 - rated 87 by me.
    What a great Campbeltown malt!
In a direct comparison, of course, you notice the relationship, but the 21er is composed much finer and more complex.

      Direct pleasant Campbeltown smoke.
Not medicinal, no burning rubber tire, kinda like stale sauna pine. In addition, there is also a mineral note, hot slate, on the water fizzles out.
These are so clear Springbank associations for me.
In addition, there is an engaging sweetness and some fruitiness as well as pleasant wood.
Means: perfect symbiosis of cask and distillery character!

In the mouth it still changes. Adorable!
The sweetness plays with dryness and smoke.
      An engaging mouthfeel.
It's rare to find such an agreeable malt.
I would describe it as oily. I think that's more of a subjective feeling. I would like it mentioned anyway.
    • Finish
      90 90
Incomprehensible. Here he breaks through the 90s wall.
      This is excellence.
A mighty rush of PLEASANT sweetness. Not sticky or sticky. Beautifully cherry-fruity, then there is light smoke, some caramel and finally becoming a bit drier.
Wave-like, new impressions are created again and again as you leave.
      Very nice.

    Aroma
Sweet smoke, raisins, dates, sherry, greasy

    taste
Sweetish, spicy wood, a little bitter, sherry dried fruits

    finish
Medium length, nice, sweetish spiciness, slight bitterness

The flavor gonna change a lot after you left it in the bottle for month.

nose: lemon, sea salt, green apple, fruity soda
taste: the bitterness of apples, honey, nuts, lemons and pits. The tongue becomes paralyzed quickly, dried lemon peel, haystacks
finish: leather, tobacco, lemon zest, roasted fruit

After putting it for almost two months: 12/14/2021
The scent of fresh grapes, chocolate, cookies, and alcohol brought a pleasant taste and disappeared without a trace. The wine slipped down, and the sherry element of the cloud top in the finish was revealed, the kind of dust and grape soda The sense of combination brings a very satisfying enjoyment, with a bit of creamy texture and buttery fragrance. Genting really surprises every time it opens.

Seriously one of the best I have ever had... So subtle in its smokiness, rich in (sherry) flavours, lengthy... It makes you instantly happy and these happy moments are probably the reason why we love whisky so much. No need to add chocolate, cigars or any other delight at all...

  14. BruceLee scored this whisky 90 points Newbie

    Shy nose.

On the palate, big: Juicy, tropical fruits, punchy malt,

Finish follows with Palma violets & caramel cascades. Burnt wildflower meadows, with caraway and daisy.

Very creamy mouthfeel plus some additional astringency, a SB paradox.

    Superb.
