Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 15-year-old ChWh
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.82 points
- Amazing, not a typical Bruichladdich. You can spend hours with this dram. Very complex and interesting.
- Chorlton release price is £115.
- Colour is light amber.
On the nose it’s really buttery with nuts, apricot, tangerine and marzipan but also some astringent and coastal notes in the background. Yeasty, slightly fusile and complex, it jumps out of the glass with the body and attack of an Islay but not the smoke.
Beautifully oily in the mouth, malty, slightly tangy and my only criticism is that it’s a little hot. There’s an orange-oil note in there that reminds of Clynelish.
The finish is medium in length and slightly drying with an apricot or orange-peel bitterness that is quite pleasant.
A fantastic dram
- Note from Chorlton :
A beautiful example of this classic unpeated Islay whisky. The nose has seaside ozone, yellow fruits, milk bottle sweets, and coastal herbs and minerals. The palate is oily and sweet, with peach tea, oysters, lime cream and handfuls of malted barley.
