- Unfortunately, this
can no longer be found. Quite good.
The nose is
surprisingly alcoholic, but also wonderfully fruity. Think gooseberries (quite
a bit!), raisins and peach. Hint of banana. Brown sugar. Hint of milk
chocolate. This must have been a sherry cask.
It is mouth coating
and oily, almost creamy. Feisty from the spices too: cloves and some pepper.
The fruit returns, the same as on the nose, but the raisins are now drenched in
sherry and the whole is joined with some stewed pears. Just shy of pear syrup.

The finish is rather
long, warm from the spices. On the death, it does show a bitter edge, as if I
have just bitten down on a grape pith.
