Whisky Reviews for Mac-Talla Mara
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.33 points
- As one of the oldest whisky families in Scotland, the Morrisons have had a strong presence on Islay for five generations. The name of their new whisky line Mac-Talla - which means “echo” in Gaelic - reflects exactly this close connection between the Morrison family and the famous whisky island of Islay.
This whisky reflects the island's maritime nature and has been heavily influenced by the atmosphere of the Atlantic salt that surrounds Islay. Matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and at a barrel strength of 58.2% vol. bottled.
- Strong peat and the smell of campfire embers fill your nose. Fresh notes of citrus and freshly ground black pepper. On the palate a flood of peat and salty smoke, which meets a malty sweetness. The alcohol is very well integrated, the finish is clearly long with a strong peat note and spicy oak. (Expertise)
