Quite solid. Fruity, with loads of menthol. On second sniff, more than solid. It's pretty damn mouthwatering. Fruity. Pineapples, bananas, peaches. Green tea. Putty clay. Ginger.
Great strength. Love it. A nicely aged bourbon barrel, with all the accompanied vanilla, coconutty flavors, with sweet, ripened pears. Good mouthfeel. Quite chewy. Reminiscent of a great Bunnahabhain from North Star Spirits, but this strathisla perhaps is just ever so slightly less balanced and more spicy and more oaky.
Funny enough, I just realized they are both 30yo bourbon casks.
Yea, some peppery spice here. A good amount of oak now. Some fruits persist, but the nose and palate win.
