Whisky Reviews for Glenlochy 1974 Ses

The spirit has clearly had more influence here than the barrel, but it is oh so good. It needs water though, and plenty of it.
    • Nose
Oranges and plenty of it. Green apple peels. Nailpolish remover. Pencil shavings. Then lemons and candle wax. After letting it stand for a while it gets some tropical fruits as well. Unripe bananas. Water: More tropical. Kiwi.
    • Taste
Lemon and oranges again. Apples. And then it gets a bit herbal, Coriander, nutmeg and anise. There’s a hint of pastis too.
    • Finish
Long! Mostly with coriander and lemons.

  2. ColdAesthetics scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

A beautiful young malt of a long-forgotten distillery, the power does him good, pure skin.
    • Nose
Very special, green apple, honey, peach brandy, unripe mango, wasabi and white pepper, unripe banana and some gum, nutmeg and some vanilla
    • Taste
Mix of light fruits, apples, honey, unripe mango, some malt, banana and Ricolabonbons, brown sugar, candle wax, Benedectine and some anise, citrus peel also there
    • Finish
Pretty long, the mixture of fruits and spices remains, some malt and honey and pepper

  4. Calmar scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

An interesting mole, slightly rusty, damp, with an obvious bony-fivel core, but very deep and complex, a lot of pleasant, harmoniously interwoven flower-honey inclusions, a very warm and long-lasting fading aftertaste, something from the past, now the whisky of such a profile is almost not meets, well, and note the excellent for 67%.
    • Nose
Open, raw, malt and grain, freshly sawed wood, wood dust, moonshine notes, window putty, shoe cream, furniture polish, new leather goods, lemon, light flower-honey hues, rosin, resin.
    • Taste
Powerful, grain, moonshine, light plastic-rubber notes, lemon and orange candied fruits, confectionery-honey tones.
    • Finish
Spicy, warming, I would even say warming up, like a hot mulled wine gulped; oak, malt, grain, nuts, light bitterness of young bark, weak notes of ginger and cardamom, mint and eucalyptus, honey, fruit and citrus fruits.
