A decent Glenfiddich which has more punch than current versions.
    • Nose
Starts malty with roasted cereal. Biscuits. Followed with more grassy and flowery notes. Vanilla and honey as well. Whiff of smoke at the background.
    • Taste
Now more on fuity sweetness of white grapes and gooseberries. Some lemon and lime. Barley sugar and cedar wood. It's also slightly peaty. Altough the palate is soft and gentle, it's not boring at all
    • Finish
Medium long. Chestnut. A little pepper. Liquorice and cinnamon. Quite dry.

This is almost in old blend territory but a good well made old blend.

I like this, simple pleasures and all that, not complex in any way but well made I will see how this compares to the XX Experimental, and IPA Experiment. Still can be found for a reasonable price at auctions so do not discount this in favour of something more `goochie`

    A nice easy sipper.
    • Nose
Definite notes of light honey, cereals, pineapple, biscuit and ever so faint hints of orange.

This is quite surprising as it appears to have some depth to it with a few used engine oil notes which I really like which is the peat aspect raising its head.Interesting!
    • Taste
Light and creamy but then the peat arrives mixed with stewed fruit, I detect a hint of lemon, more cereal malty notes, caramel, an then some honey and warm pastry notes.
    • Finish
Reasonable length with a smooth creamy finish.

Does anyone know when this is from ?
I found a 75cl bottle with the same label with a Singapore Duty Free Sticker, at a guess this came after the stone-ware `Over 8 Years` decanter around mid to end 70s ? Can anyone confirm/deny ?
