A shocker for me, as I’ve yet to find a Loch Lomond I’ve liked.

This is everything you hope you’d get out a Clynelish honestly, but I’m finding even Clynelish isn’t delivering the goods these days. At least not consistently. There was a Clynelish right before this in the lineup that was not close to as good as this one.

    I am really impressed.
    • Nose
Wax, wax, wax. Paraffin, crayons, candle sticks. Every wax except maybe full on beeswax, it’s missing the honey. Melons, banana, coconut… love this.
    • Taste
Wax forges through the palate. More bananas, melons, viscous and creamy. Icing sugar. No flaws.
    • Finish
Waxy forever. All on paraffin, candles. Melons, banana chips… Ive only really ever seen this modern style in Clynelish and Imperial, and now.. Inchmurrin! Never would have thought. Easy 90 for me. If you like wax, you’ll love it.

SMWS Tasting Notes: A real beauty - waxed lemons, white chocolate, fudge sundae, spearmint, ripe red apples, honey, hints of virgin olive oil, salty sea spray and a wisp of smoke. Viscous, oily and fresh on the palate with toasted wood, polished oak, oranges and kiwis and in the finish, one of the classic cocktails, the epitome of a summer drink - a Daiquiri. After the addition of water - freshly sliced lemons, sunflower oil, yoghurt-coated raisins and plenty of wax; beeswax, paraffin wax, palm wax and coconut wax. The taste was like a stress relieving, deep inhalation of fresh mountain air filled with lavender, heather and Scots pine.
