This nose is very
aromatic. Candied sugar, vanilla and dried fruits in a lovely layer of port
wine. The port is dominant, yes, but absolutely complimentary and not
disturbing in any way. It works wonders.
The port also puts
its foot down on the mouthcoating, creamy palate. It is honeysweet on all kinds
of dark fruits (could it be from a sherry cask?) with a slightly sour touch
from the fortified wine. But the whole is beautiful and does not need any
On the finish, my
teeth almost collapse from my mouth because of the utter sweetness. Very spicy
on nutmeg and cloves.
