Whisky Reviews for Ledaig 1995 V&M

Definitely a Tobermory and not a Ledaig, which is kind of false advertising in a way. No peat at all. All on stone fruits and vanilla. It’s good, but not overly memorable. No flaws, but no real depth either.

    yes, just yes!

Anyone expecting a 25-year-old (peered) Ledaig will be seriously disappointed. This is a great fruit basket. Why it's called Ledaig and not Tobermory is a mystery to me, but at least this is one of the best whiskys I've tasted in the last year.

As some commentators have pointed out, the label makes no sense. There isn't a bit of smoke to be found here.
Relatively fresh for 25 years, more subtractive maturation than additive. Very pleasant, the alcohol is perfectly integrated, nice sweetness and a great development on the tongue with a very pleasant oak.

Nose: apricots, biscuit (apricot cake), cereals, honeydew melon framed by a pleasant citrus freshness. (lime, lemon)

Taste: The taste almost follows the nose, paired with an almost sugary sweetness and goes a little more in the exotic direction (mango, papaya).

Finish: The finish has a good length. Cereals, pleasant oak and mint alternate here.

We simply have a very good ex-bourbon whisky/ Tobermory that lacks a bit of complexity and depth to be really great. (Potential: 92+)

Wow, what a wonderful bourbon aging. It's been a long time since we had such a delicious whisky in the glass.

Great whisky, elegant, drinkable, full of flavor, you would definitely not say a 25 year old. Alcohol not received. Too bad for the final, otherwise it would have been 90 points
