Typical austere fruitiness of an Irish - pretty good
    • Nose
      90 90
Vanilla, plenty of tropical fruits, some austere notes, herbs, honey, some green fruits, little floral and leafy - pretty good
    • Taste
      90 90
Oily, creamy, fruity, subtle swetness, some peppermint, menthol, austere notes, tropical fruits, honey, vanilla - still good
    • Finish

Medium long, warm, fruity, austere, peppermint

Stewed Orchard fruits, candied citrus, some tropical notes of papaya and mango, bit mineral, honey and apricot jam, very nice

Certainly not the fruit bomb as some some of the late 1980s vintages, but it offers more than enough redeeming qualities.
    • Nose
Orchard fruits along the lines of apricots, quince and peaches, but there's also room for subtle pastry notes as well as faint whiffs of vegetables. I get some chalky and mineral touches too, with finally a sliver of honey.
    • Taste
Creamy mouthfeel. Impressive notes of beeswax, pollen and macadamia nuts, as well as puff pastry and a zesty citrus influence. Some melon and peaches too, accompanied by soft notes of white pepper.
    • Finish
Gentle fruits and honey with a slight mineral touch. Very enticing.

An Irish as I like them, on fruit and ... fruit.
So we're not looking at all for complexity here, but really for fruit and balance.

      Quite typical and very pretty.
      A real tropical fruit basket.
Mango, papaya, passion fruit, banana, pineapple, orange, tangerine. And I surely forget.
Scone, vanilla, almonds, and a very light salted butter caramel.
      A beautiful minty freshness.
It's very balanced, easy and fun.
    • Taste

On the palate, it is again very balanced and easy to drink.
The fruit is a little more diffuse, still on mango, passion fruit, orange, lemon, bergamot.
Vanilla, acacia honey, scone, light pepper.
      Very light woody bitterness.
      Simple but effective.
    • Finish
      90 90
Long and superbly fruity finish on mango, papaya, pepper, orange, mint and slightly green wood.

Rich tropical fruits as expected. Sugar apples, mango, ripe red papaya, almost no sourness. Pollen, sticky premium honey. Then develops into cookies, Scottish shortbread, butter, almond. Fruit leaves, blood oranges flesh and dried vanilla. Orange and light hay from emptied glass.
    • Taste
      89 89
Not so sweet mango with a touch of the mango skin. Grassy, pollen, fresh black pepper. Light citrus zest with some citrus sourness, a bit more oily after chew. Not much change tbh as you would expect from the excellent nosing.
    • Finish
      88 88
A bit of bitter papaya skin, pepper, cinnamon. A thin layer of orange juice. Tannin at the end.

Served in the glass, it is a basket of fresh tropical fruits and vegetables. Subsequently it fades to go to ripe fruit. A point of green melon for freshness a zest of star fruit skin for bitterness. We finish with yellow kiwi, melon, pineapple and a slightly citric finish. It's long, round, delicious.

An Irishman (again) to fall in love with! Very nice maturity and complex. I recognize both fruit and floral components and a lot of freshness. Everything looks very harmonious and complex, none of the components is oversized (which I think is good). One of the best Irish guys in recent years!

Recognizable as Irish on the nose, typical but subtle. Sweetly tingly in the mouth, complex, mild & soft. Alcohol involved very well. Nice finish with a long aft key. Light vanilla, more of a mild Irish, but overall a very high level.
