Dried wild apples, pear, citrus peel, baby cough syrup and licorice. In general, some kind of squeezed, failed to open, whisky, which lacked the potential.

    • Nose
      90 90
      hay, grass, apples

fruity, grassy, tropical hints (unripe pineapple) in the transition to the finish
    • Finish
      90 90
rather dry and oaky finish, here you can clearly see the age

I am disappointed. Overdub terribly. The aroma is very weak. The taste is solid oak.

Good but not great, this Tormore 1988 32 Years from The Whisky Agency is a proper aged single malt, but at a price north of 300 euro you could probably do better.
    • Nose
Warm apple compote with sprinkles of cinnamon. A slight minerality and juicy green grapes as well, followed by a hint of tangerine. Whispers of dried grass and even some tobacco.
    • Taste
Soft fruits like stewed apples, but also apricots and with a touch of grappa and some eucalyptus. Slightly dry at times with whiffs of musty oak, but also some freshly cut grass. A pinch of white pepper also.
    • Finish
Drying and lingering spices. Then a sliver of honey, grass and chalk. Ending on orchard fruits.

Tasting notes from an online tasting with 25 participants

The 32 years haven't really made him mild. Good sharpness.
a lot of vanilla, very round, no sharpness
It doesn't need any water, pleasant drinking strength
We also feel the sharpness. The vanilla is super defined, nose marzipan, peach. Gains a lot with water
mild; round; no sharpness; almost a little too lovely
Typical bourbon taste, a lot of vanilla, pleasant warmth, hardly any wood
    Bourbon taste, quite tart
Bourbon, mild, nice oiliness, light sweetness, vanilla
    Water takes the edge off.

A 1988 goalore that stands out in a positive way.
Along with that of Le Gus't (142154) from 1995, one of my favorites.
    • Nose
      89 89
Intense, herbs, menthol, Williams pear, citrus, grass, grape, grape seed, green fruit, wax, honey, vegetal, fresh wood
    • Taste
      90 90
      first melon, pear, mineral

Then becomes sweeter, peach, banana, kiwi
    • Finish
      88 88
      medium length and dry

Everything is at a good level if not for the price. A year ago, CA released Tormore 30 at € 180-200. It's a good dram but I don't recommend buying a 300 + € bottle.
    • Nose
Orange candies, field herbs with dust, honey and mint.
    • Taste
The taste is a continuation of the nose. The same honey with herbs, slight bitterness from orange peel.
    • Finish
Middle. More built on mint and citrus fruits.

What a great surprise! A very juicy, fruity whisky with lovely grassy notes, sitting somewhere between a mature Irish and Littlemill. Had to buy 2 bottles despite the rather optimistic price for a 32yo bottle from a third tier distillery.
