Whisky Reviews for Longmorn 2005 TWA

- These 2005 Longmorns enchant. The vol% below 50% make this whisky incredibly balanced and dangerously tasty. The sherry is fantastically integrated and the barrel reveals an incredible maturity after 15 years. Top class! Definitely try it!
- WID: 169156 got 88 points from me at the first contact, after that I drank it up to 91 points. Right from the start, this one is softer, rounder, more flattering, but not boring, but on the other hand also not all-encompassing complex. I would think of a typical Oloroso barrel. Olorosotypically dry and sour in the nose, behind it the dusty library with the old leather armchairs, then sawdust with not too much smell. A little mushroom with currants and red, candied Christmas market apple. As a macallan drinker, I would have classified him blindly. Quite dry in the mouth with a rather restrained sweetness. The alcohol has a savory presence, but is nowhere nasty dominant. In the medium-long finish, the mushroom pan with plum and beetroot is in your mouth for a long time. All in all a great part and you feel the need for a second dram. It's a shame that I was only able to get one bottle of this bottling. Well, at least I got two samples from @ Tommy71 at FT. Thanks for that. As I write here, I still have the whisky present in my mouth. So I would turn a medium-long finish into a long one. Nice bottling and 91 points from me straight away.
- Great sherry bottling, even for 15 years. Probably 1st fill fully matured in a good barrel. Light chocolate, biscuits, fruits & caramel. Seems to have been a good year at Longmorn.
- Superb, sherry bomb, just wow!
Fantastic, best I tried in years!
Loads of raisins and milk chocolate
