    Color: white wine
    Viscosity: oily
    Dram: undiluted and diluted

    Conclusion:
A really nice and simple Islay malt. From my point of view, the citrus notes tell him that it has to be a Caol Ila. Not too complex and the youth can be seen in him. Nevertheless, it comes across as nice and powerful. I'm guessing an age between 6-8 years. It disintegrates very, very quickly with water. A few drops of water do him good, a little more, hardly anything is left and dilutes him. What I like is the interplay between sweetness, smoke, citrus notes and a slight bitterness. From my point of view, a recommendation for a mild summer evening by the campfire after grilling.

    My rating system:
    100-95: Exceptional whiskys
    80-94: top whisky
    50-79: standard whisky
    0-49: flops
    • Nose
The first impression is characterized by a nice smoky note accompanied by a penetrating sweetness and citrus aromas. The smoke notes are more reminiscent of a cold campfire smoke. The fire is already out, but the smoke drifts up your nose. When you fade out the smoke, the citrus notes and salty moments come to the fore. Lemongrass on a grill, grated lemon peel, trout on the grill and lemon wedges on top. In addition, there is a wonderful saltiness, sea salt, spray from the sea, pasta water, light tobacco smoke, accompanied by smoking moments from a smoker, smoked mackerel, grilled pineapple, tar, cold smoke, light ash moments, you can't really find many fruity notes when then there are more sour moments of rhubarb and gooseberry, smoked ham, coconut blossom sugar, light cowshed moments
    • Taste
The malt starts off wonderfully sweet, with wonderful smoky notes and citrus notes on the tongue. Despite the high alcohol content, the alcohol is wonderfully integrated. You have to be careful when adding water, because the malt disintegrates very, very quickly. In addition, there are nice vanilla notes, creme brûlée with too much burnt sugar, smoked ham, the taste shows the saltiness of sea water, spray, salty ham and again the citrus notes, grated lemon peel, lime juice, lemongrass, slightly nutty moments of hazelnuts, Chocolatey moments after milk chocolate, light ginger spiciness, grilled marshmallows over a campfire, cotton candy
    • Finish
The finish is astonishingly long, the sweetness stays in the mouth for a long time, is then replaced by the smokiness and ends in light bitter and biting notes, like hazelnuts, nougat cream after Nutella, the typical citrus notes are also evident here

Wow, poff, spring starts with a bang on Islay! My guess is a Caol Ila, but one of the gaudy variants. A bit alcoholic but also very heavy.
    • Nose
      83 83
Expressive peat smoke, clean and fresh, mineral notes, grassy, fennel and dill.
    • Taste
      85 85
Salty, olives, capers and somewhere hidden the notes of sesame, strong smoke and peat, tastes good and looks very young.
    • Finish
      84 84
For what is presumably a very young whisky, it has an astonishingly long aftertaste. You can't ask for complexity, but I still think it's good.

Best diluted to about 52% for me. The following Notes also refer to this. The light yellow color suggests ex-bourbon barrel maturation, which is also confirmed in the nose and mouth. A clean Islay whisky, not overly complex.
    • Nose

Campfire smoke, smoked ham, sea spray, lemon, wild herbs. The nose speaks for a Caol Ila.
    • Taste
      85 85
Mouth filling. Peat smoke with salt and pepper. There is a bit of ginger heat and lemon. In interplay with the existing sweetness.
    • Finish
      85 85
Peat smoke, ash, oak and lemon also remain. Getting dry. Medium length.

Very special bottle which prevents you from looking at the color.

The whisky was diluted down to 52% before tasting, so it clearly wins in nosing

Immediately after opening the bottle, a campfire scent escapes, which is kept alive with damp wood. Anyone who has ever eaten freshly smoked bacon or ham will fondly remember it here. After a while I have something citrus on my nose, but I can't really pinpoint it.
    • Taste
      85 85
The whisky lies unbelievably creamy on the tongue, envelops all taste buds with a wonderful vanilla sweetness, the alcohol is very well integrated and does not allow any sharpness.
    • Finish
      85 85
Medium-long finish with a bit of bitterness which is not unpleasant. Warm and sweet, this great drop says goodbye in the aftermath
