  2. MaroFF scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

The whisky is surprisingly well balanced with a strong and permeable aroma. The taste is dominated by malt and ripe melon fruit. Finish strongly warming, with a fruit salad and dark chocolate in the background. Alcohol perfectly hidden.

    Water drop...
Aroma: unchanged, expressive, intense and fruity, with notes of delicately roasted sulfur and polished oak
Taste: more delicate, more spicy, but the white grape flavors are still in the first place
Finish: softer, less peppery, sweeter, honey. Chocolate gives way to sugar syrup and jasmine flowers.
    • Nose
      86 86
fresh, sweet, fruity, coconut, ripe melon, cherries, young oak
    • Taste
      87 87
very expressive, creamy, sweet, ripe grapes, mango, honey, oak
    • Finish
      87 87
long, intense, sweet, slightly peppery and soapy, the end is slightly spicy, warming with a hint of dark chocolate.

Fassstark.de taste experiment 2021 (blind tasting)

Demanding on the nose, but good.
In the mouth: Needs water, without it it is very tart.
    • Nose
      86 86
Quite alcoholic, with sweet dark fruits (cherry, orange). Hardly any seasoning at first. grain, dust. Dark chocolate, nut cream. Airing it out for a long time helps, as does water. The alcoholic severity then disappears.
    • Taste
      85 85
A sweet start for a few seconds. Then biting on the tongue, probably thanks to the high alcohol content, which leaves little room for other flavors. Little oak, feels young in the mouth.
Water makes him much more comfortable. Cherries and oranges, honey, dark chocolate.
    • Finish
      85 85
Good medium length, sweet, becomes dry, coats the tongue.

    Notes of a blind tasting:

This malt has a very interesting nose. I've never had it like this before. Very fruity in profile.
    • Nose
Peach, grain, grass, herbs, caramel, subliminally slightly sweet, very complex, lots of fruits. Very intense nose
    • Taste
Strong, peach, subtly sweet, caramel, very fruity, a real fruit basket, slightly spicy, oak notes.
    • Finish
Strongly fruity, sweet, herbs, oak, slightly bitter at the end.

do not rush to drink, breathe and pleasure is guaranteed.
the aftertaste is not as long as expected. everything else is at a good level

  7. FritzeKrautman scored this whisky 83 points Connoisseur

The nose is pretty nice, but leaves a lot to be desired on the palate. Add to that the aggressive alcohol and you can tick off the whisky.
    • Nose
      84 84
Honey, malt, exotic fruits. This is followed by light roasted aromas, vanilla and walnut
    • Taste
      82 82
Spicy onset, becoming slightly bitter. The alcohol can be felt quite strongly. This is followed by light fruits, honey and malt.
    • Finish
      82 82
Medium to long finish, whereby the alcohol is now quite intrusive. There is still oak and, after a while, some nutty notes

  8. Der_Schnappulierer scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

A good whisky, certainly of high quality, but not my taste. The whisky is very marginal in its purest form, but it tolerates water very well. The finish is great!

    Blind tasting
    • Nose
      87 87
Thick sherry, oily, a bit pungent at the beginning. Dried fruits and all that other sherry stuff. Slightly nutty (walnut), sums up vinegar but still ok. Diluted more open and fruity, I like it much better.
    • Taste
      85 85
Nutty, sweet, honey, some vinegar. The whisky is just a bit crazy
    • Finish
      88 88
      Medium long, spicy and sour.

    Blind tasting Barrel-strong taste experiment:
Nose really ok, the taste ... without words, just disgusting! Wine barrel finish, 46 to 50% alcohol content, max. 6 years, "Other, non-Scottish whisky"
    • Nose
Dried fruits, slightly fermented and musty, sweetness, strawberries and raspberries, oranges, slightly tart fruit, mild and gentle, relatively high alcohol content, floral.
    • Taste
Phew! OMG! Sorry, the taste doesn't work at all! Pale and stale, bitter, stinging on the tongue, high alcohol content, nutty ...
    • Finish
      -

Fermented fruits, moldy wood, old bananas. After a while it goes away and vanilla and honey come along with floral notes.
    • Taste

Warm and powerful start. Almond butter, orange peel, vanilla, honey, caramel candy. Very pure and clearly outlined, no corners or edges.
    • Finish

Medium length, fruity, vanilla. Warm cocoa, milk chocolate.

    Blind tasting

good whisky but way too expensive
    • Nose
Cherry, woodruff, pine needles, tea, sherry, light alcoholic heat
    • Taste
strong start, slightly astringent, sherry, plum, chocolate, some oak
    • Finish
warm, dominated by oak, sherry, medium length

  13. Whisky Hamster scored this whisky 88 points Expert Senior

Big dram with nice but not over the top dessert wine sweetness that invites you to spend time with it. There's a lot to discover and play with water. Pretty alcohol-dominant at first, but over time it's taming down a bit. Recommended!

  14. olegborgol scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Strong keith Kirsch. The finish is shorter than expected given the degree. 22-22-21-22

  15. tommy12 scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Scent: very pleasant, sherry aromas, alcohol well integrated, slightly adhesive, sweetness.
Taste: Sweetness, very long finish, nice development of taste on the palate, tasty, tolerates some water. Overall, a really good whisky, but for me there are much better ones.

  16. Trops scored this whisky 88 points Expert Junior

The union of sherry and marsala makes the base almost unrecognizable. Only after half an hour, alcohol itself begins to appear in the glass from under the layers of sweetness. The attack is very powerful and spicy, the taste is dominated by pastry notes of custard baked goods and old wood, nuts.

  17. WHISKYEUROPA2009 scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

SMELL Frangipane, ripe peaches, walnut with toffee. Then fine malt notes with pineapple, lemon, ending in oak notes. TASTE rich with sweet almonds and creamy. Then fruity with blueberries, forest honey and peppermint. Long finish with floral notes and fine toasted notes.
