I was a bit ambivalent, from the nose I found this whisky creepy. I wasn't even sure if it was a whisky during the blind tasting. But then he won in the mouth. A "tightrope act" between letting it stand or continuing to drink. Definitely very unusual but the finish was very nice, couldn't hide its PX flavors, I liked the sulfur and would be up for another dram. But not at this price.
    • Nose
First indefinable sour notes of fermented milk, then plastic, musty sulphur, sweet cream, sherry and antibiotics.
    • Taste
Sweet... a heavy sweetness of turnip greens, herbal candies, sulfur and very oily in the mouth.
    • Finish
Warm, very sweet, almost a sticky sweetness, turnip greens, PX Sherry, he left with a slight scratchy throat.

    Color: Pale Gold

Disgusting stuff that I do not want call whisky. A musty young sulphured sherry spirit that reminds of smelly sneakers.
    • Nose
      60 60
Sweet, dominated by vanilla aroma with some oak and notes of apricots. Dull and musty. Not a typical whisky aroma.
    • Taste
      50 50
Young, spirity and spicy mouthfeel. Very sweet. Spicy with vanilla, oak and an intensive sulphured sherry note.
Tastes strange and musty. Smelly sneakers. Absolutely Disgusting.
    • Finish
      50 50
Medium long, sweet, spirity and spicy with the disgusting sulphured sherry lingering on. Musty aftertaste.

The dram cannot hide its youth, even if it is tried to compensate for it with a lot of alcohol. Unfortunately, this is not included accordingly. Neither particularly complex nor impressive. Or maybe this is just not my thing.

I like this whisky as it is, it's a good every day dram. Not too complex, maybe the alcohol is a little bit to intense, depending on mood and the time of the day.
Apart from this is a very nice dram.
    • Nose
a little sweetness from honey, sherry with a hint of spices and lemon.
    • Taste
creamy and oily, less sweet than on the nose but more vanilla and spices on the palate, the alcohol is a bit to sharp for my taste.
    • Finish
A warm dryness develops as the gentle touch of sherry slowly fades.

    Don't like me at all.
    • Nose
      Honey, fruits, apricot
    • Taste
Vanilla, Oily, Vegetable Oil, Sweet, Nutty, Sulfur
    • Finish
      Medium long and spicy

An absolutely great malt. Exactly my target group.
The Thousand Mountains Double Raven special series continues in its third instance.
    Great!

Just check out the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwhNveYTayM&t=0s

Aroma: honey, light old oak, apricot & raisin

Taste: Strong start with a creamy, oily mouthfeel. Initially slightly peppery freshness with fruity apricot. Later, nutty aroma paired with vanilla. Light, old dry oak resonates.

Finish: Medium length with vanilla & raisin

Description of the distillery: The special series of the Double Raven continues in its third instance.

Initially, the whisky matured in fresh Kentucky ex-bourbon barrels for three years. The master distiller then married three selected barrels in an original ex-Pedro Ximenez butt and subjected them to a 6 month finish. This barrel was then bottled uncolored and unfiltered.

Smell: honey, light oak, apricot & raisin

Taste: Creamy and oily mouthfeel. At first slightly peppery freshness. Later, nutty aroma paired with vanilla.

Finish: medium length, vanilla & raisin
