unpleasant rubber note, tastes like tubular bicycle tires in the mouth, rubber too dominant

Not possible at all. This has little to do with whisky! Pure burnt rubber.
    • Nose
The smell of the industrial hall gives way to other aromas after a while.
    • Taste
Subway tunnel with a lot of abrasion from brakes.
    • Finish
      Still bad.

    Try at your own risk.

In fact, the question arises as to what one could award a point for here. In the nose you have such a penetrating note of rubber tires, subway station and brake dust that it makes you nauseous. This grade decreases a little over time, but you can still award points for it.
    • Taste
      20 20
A little more sweetness from the PX Cask, otherwise rubber and brake dust.
    • Finish

Luckily it's over pretty quickly. There are extra points for that.

Tasted during a distillery tour at a JGA.

It seems as if the barley was dried over burnt car tires.
Ergo, a very penetrating rubber note from the nose to the finish

In a blind tasting I didn't come up with whisky - topic missed. The product had a long finish - unfortunately after burnt rubber.

Wow, that's something completely different. If, like me, you come from Islay Rauch and expect something similar, you will be surprised. The smoke notes are completely different. However, if you get involved, it becomes more interesting by the minute. I would describe the project of the first peated Hillock whisky as a success.
    • Nose
Strong, light smoky notes, which remind me most of glowing conifers, with a very light rubber component. There are also light fruits, apricots and some sea buckthorn. Honey sweetness is also involved. If you give the whisky a little time, the PX finish can also be seen in the form of sultanas.
    • Taste
Here, too, the light smoke aromas appear first. The sweetness comes through more clearly and is just as light. There is some malt and vanilla. The honey can also be found, as well as the sea buckthorn. A little sharpness brings strength.
    • Finish
Most of the aftertaste is of medium length, but it doesn't really work. The sweetness lasts the longest, the smoke slowly disappears.
