1720) Aberlour, 14, Double Cask Matured, Batch 0002
    • Nose
N- Cozy and comforting vintage cushion nuance, touches of those usual suspect - toffee, honey and brown sweet notes. Quite musky in the middle, worth searching for the faint note of dried lime that sunk right at the bottom end, but soft and in vain attempt to lift the mono spirits. Overall, ok, I will take the fore-note on rating this and ignored the rest. (85/19)
    • Taste
P- Felt the thinness immediately, over-sized coat on a lanky body. Various notes concocted to a dull bitter sphere with hollow dryness. (80/17)
    • Finish
F- Irrelevant, unpleasant mouthfeel, spirity and doesn't taste right and way off the scale. Reminded me of Scotch Blue. (76/16)

B/B- 80/17 Busy with lowering strength, pack in smaller bottling size and price hike, what else that PR are focusing on their product? How about quality? I think beside the A'bunadh and some IB bottling, the core range of AB are really troubling...oh shoot, I think I still have the sample for new batch of 16YO to try.

Cant say its a great addition to the range. Very sweet. Weak on the mouth. Red fruits. Chocolate. Hazelnut. Herbal a bit.
    Stick with the 12.

The aroma of wood and anise. The taste is light, citrus, sour and cherry, with anise cloves on the finish

  6. MaroFF scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

Very dessert whisky with visible chocolate accents. Perfectly balanced, but also gentle on the tongue with a long finish.
For the low price, around 42 €, this is an excellent whisky and can be counted as "a little sip for a good day"
