  1. DenverbroncosDuke scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Mannochmore is one of the less well-known and also underrated distilleries, here a very nice example of a very successful Bourbon single cask bottling that knows how to convince with a lot of fruit in the nose and sweet and strong-spicy notes in the taste.
    • Nose
      89 89
Fruit, fruit, fruit on the nose. Honey, lime, chocolate and a little bit of cinnamon. Constantly oscillates back and forth, even without adding water.
    • Taste
      87 87
The taste of the tasting notes range from shortbread and honey in the mouth to a very sweet fruity note of mirabelle plums and yellow plums.
    • Finish
      85 85
Chocolate and cinnamon in the finish, a little astringent dryness and plenty of oak spice alternate with each other.

First try so ratings may change:

N: Apple Cider, vanilla folwerish (blossoms), Honey Melon fresh style (slight menthol maybe) ...with water i get some children's toothpaste and I think I have a very little sweet peat in the back (is that possible?? - wherever it's coming from) anyway it's an upgrade upgrade ;) 90

T/D: Apple cider (i stick to it), Honey , Vanilla, Honey Melon, Lemons...later milk choclate some hints of spice 88

F: Darker Choclate slight, ginger oak and vanilla (medium) 87

Very light, floral and round - alcohol quite good intergrated for the age and barrel (you can sense it abit on the palate)

A very solid bourbon cask speysider that takes water quite well (slight changes here more fruity less vanilla and fresher menthol and peat with some drops i prefer it with water) not super spectacular on the first sight - but delivers what it should and a bit more esp in the nose... 89...
