Nice to thank for the sample, but this no longer! ..
    • Nose
The aroma is very subtle - they feel heavy floral and light fruit tones (peaches), honey, malt, but nothing overall significant. A lot of mild mint in the background
    • Taste
Prim plays a woody flavor, spiciness, and maybe somewhere in the background a bitter chocolate. The flavor is subtle in general, except for the spice - generally as faint as the smell.
    • Finish
In reverberation again, woodiness, spiciness and bitter chocolate - as it sounds unpleasant, is long on the other.

The Glengoyne beginner does not do much wrong and delivers what you expect.
    • Nose
Honey sweet, peach, some oak, vanilla, also some caramel, slightly mint and some malt
    • Taste
Sweet, peach, mild, caramel, vanilla, slightly alcoholic, bitter oak, overall lacks the force
    • Finish
sweet, peach, becomes drier with time, on the palate remains the peachy

To me, this fits into the exact same class as your standard Glenlivet or Glenfiddich 12 yo, though it's more similar to the Glenlivet in its more honied/vanilla taste as opposed to the fruitiness of Glenfiddich.

So if you see it, go for it, but it's not something you need to go searching for.

Glengoyne's entry-level 10-year-old is the most easily available of their range
of whiskies, and is made using "air-dried barley", which Glengoyne claims
results in a subtle, more complex flavour profile. It is fresh and well-rounded
on the nose, with medium sweet aromas suggesting malt, oak, and a hint of
Sherry. Smooth and delicate on the palate, it is slightly oaky, and there is a
suggestion of cooking apples. The finish is pleasingly long, with buttery,
    vanilla notes.

sergeColour: gold. Nose: light and Chivasesque, so to speak. Classic rounded, malty
and nutty whisky, with whiffs of caramel and café latte and then hints of
overripe apples. Not unpleasant at all but I wouldn’t say there’s much
happening. Hello?? Mouth: more to my liking. Bolder and fatter than expected
(read feared), with some beeswax, apple pie, stewed pears, a little mocha,
chocolate, coffee and toffee. And some malt. Typical entry-level malt whisky
from a good maker, a weakish nose and a more than decent palate. Finish: a
little short but pleasant, very malty, with some toffee in the aftertaste.
Comments: had the palate matched the nose, it would have been a 70, but with
this fairly nice palate, it’ll rather be 78.

This Glengoyne is strong gold-yellow therefore. The aroma is characterized by sweet fruits. Clearly there are pears, apples and raspberries to smell. In addition, there are still caramel and chocolate notes. In taste, the sweet fruits are back, but not so pronounced. Add to that the notes of bitter chocolate and vanilla. There is also a slightly peppery nuance. The finish is reminiscent of a noble fruit brandy.
A delicious whisky with an amazing variety in aroma and flavor, especially for a 10 year old whisky.
