Brothers In Malt already processed this private cask on behalf of a customer in 2019. They now had the opportunity to buy back 250+ bottles for their own label. The whole cask had an outturn of 568 bottles in cask strength.

On January 25th, 2021 we were able to buy a further 246 bottles! This means we can offer friends of aged Arran barrels a total of 496 bottles. The remaining 72 bottles remain in private hands.

Excellent release level, especially considering the price at the time of release - 115 euros. The nose is somewhat reminiscent of Clynelish, and the body and finish in a blind tasting I would easily confuse with the age-related Caol Ila. It may sound strange, but in the end everything is very harmonious.

    Blenders Glass.
Light, "transparent", sherry nose ... dried apple and apricot compote, light raisins
The taste is sweet, pleasant ... woody notes in caramel syrup, abundantly sprinkled with pepper, fresh mint.
The finish is long-lasting, sweet and peppery ...

    Very tasty part!

Exactly the right balance between sherry fruits, age and character of the distillate! Sweetness, fruit, spice, everything closely interwoven. Very set. Smells much older, especially due to the wax and honey notes.
    • Taste

Slightly oily, then cold fruit bowl, fruit compote, jelly fruits. Sweet, but with the lemon note typical of Arran. Class balanced and with spiciness that doesn't make the whole thing boring.
    • Finish
      88 88
Cardamom and cinnamon notes gradually replace the concentrated fruit aromas. In the finish, you can tell that it's 'only' 22 years. But it's already long!

Elegant, tasty Arran. Not overly sherry-tinged. Nice maturity. Very round.

Light, fruity nose with sherry notes. Lots of sweet apricot. Some apple. Already smells creamy and even a bit waxy.

Over time it gets "darker" with chocolate and oak. You can smell the long ripening time.

Typical Arran - despite the age and the sherry barrel, it is still pleasantly fresh and maritime when you first try it. Nice citrus tones.
Perfect alcohol strength. Creamy on the tongue.
Then pleasantly dry on the palate with a little cocoa and hazelnuts. Very tasty.

Medium length, pleasantly warm. Slightly dry but pleasantly aromatic and round.

    Raisin-nut chocolate in liquid!
How cool is that, very tasty. Wow!
    • Nose
First on the nose are dried fruits, raisins and dates, followed by a berry compote made from dark berries. Ripe dark grapes turn into sweet sangria before hazelnuts emerge. Creamy, runny, and dark honey emerges before milk chocolate and nougat flavors make another note on the hazelnuts. A sweet, dark and deep flavor allows aromas of sticky sherry, plus some dry oak and jute.
    • Taste
Sweet and ripe grapes are also present in the mouth, but no longer dried. Blossom honey and nut flavors merge into spicy notes of pepper and some dry fruit tea. Dark chocolate and cocoa are always present in the background.
    • Finish
The finish has aromatic nuts with a subtle oak spice and very creamy dark chocolate.

Delicate nose, diluted with sherry with aged apple jam.
The taste is balanced, tannin-sherry, sweetish, but rustic. Average aftertaste, precise. In everything without development. Very soft whisky without irregularities and depressions ...
