For a 12-year-old standard bottling, this whisky has an extremely high quality, everything is right here. Barrel selection and alcohol strength, taste and the price are really top!
    • Nose
Immediately fruity-sweet on the nose with plums and grapes, plus caramel and Christmas spices. The aroma is heavy and intense. After some time in the glass, more fruits are added, there are apricots, pineapples and oranges. Everything harmonious and beautiful.
    • Taste
Creamy and mild in the mouth and sweet and fruity as in the smell. Here, too, mainly plums, plus orange, dark malt and caramel. The oak provides a certain spiciness.
    • Finish
The sherry influence and alcohol content made me expect a strong, spicy finish. But it's not that intense at all. The finish begins sweetly with dark fruits and only a subtle oak spice. Later, even tart aromas such as coffee and dark chocolate, which linger on the palate for a long time together with the fruit.

Always a great standard with great value for money. The batches are very different, but I've actually never been disappointed here.
    • Nose
      86 86
Pleasantly fruity, spicy, nutty. Also slightly maritime. Great integrated alcohol.
Ripe apples, walnuts, vanilla, salt flowers, dried apricots, malt, peaches, oranges, spicy oak. After a quarter of an hour in the glass, the fruits become darker (in the direction of pickled cherries) and delicate hints of caramel and dark chocolate are added.
    • Taste
      86 86
Strong and slightly peppery at the start. Surprisingly oily in the mouth.
It starts with very concise dried oranges, pickled cherries, caramel, salt flowers, cloves, malt, white pepper, walnuts, strong oak.
    • Finish
      85 85
Mid-length finish. Dried oranges, cinnamon, rich oak, espresso, dark chocolate, crushed grape seeds, burnt caramel.

Aroma: Fresh, aromatic character with caramel and dark fruits. Behind it there is an elegant smoky note.

Taste: full-bodied and light on the tongue. Dark fruits like blackberries and raspberries are quickly being supplanted by vanilla, nuts, and sweet malt.

Finish: Long-lasting and warming. Sweet and spicy oak remain as an impression.

    Color: amber.

The Bunnahabhain 12 years old comes in the new bottling not cool-filtered and with a strong 46.3% vol. in the bottle. The color of the bottle has been adjusted and now comes in a dark brown tone. The character of the Bunnahabhain is as usual smoky with some fruit and a slightly nutty aroma. In terms of taste, the 12-year-old culminates in a delicate malt sweetness.
