That price for a 14yo (Mortlach probably)... More than 200€ (excluding shipping costs)... LOL XD Come on, there's older and better for that price...

  2. Jean Ginster scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

Very nice nose, with a little citrus. Unusual for such a sherry board, and very pleasant.
A great sherry bomb. Above all, the taste stays in the mouth and throat for a long time. I can still taste it after more than an hour. Top.

  3. ThorstenH scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

Nice sherry nose with fruit influence and a bit meaty. Mortlach could fit. Spicy notes in the mouth and finish.

Maybe you have to smoke a cigar to make it taste good. But I won't start that again just to “understand” this malt. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2021/01/12/die-geheimnisse-der-speyside/

Cedar-wood and heather. Oranges, dried fruits and a delightful citrus tone.

Dark forest honey, heather and surprisingly floral. Caramel and chocolate. Full of red berries and dried fruits, with plums and dates. Well balanced!

Pleasant finish. Medium to long. With red berries and heather. Caramel and dried fruits.

Have to say, tasted better for less Money.

The Nose interestingly at first comes with a light, citrus flavour. Orange maybe.
There are darker notes hidden in the taste but all in all it does a rather bad job of hiding the 59% of Alcohol.

After that initial Alcohol bite its all a bit shallow. All in all for me an 80 or even less. Not a bad Whisky but not worth the Price.

For my this is how a sherry whisky should taste
