  1. Hemdl did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

I really like it. A bit (too) reserved on the nose, but then a wonderful malt on the palate, which is not overwhelming, but a lot of fun. Not a complexity monster, but you don't need it here either. In contrast to many other malts, the strengths here are definitely on the palate. This is not one of the malts that you can "smell" great, but disappoint in taste. Here it's the other way around - and that's not a problem, I mean.
    • Nose
At first very cautious, but it is also a bit cool. Takes some time, but then something opens up. Haribo strawberries with sugar, red fruits, typical sherry nose. Behind it some dry oak, which gets a little stronger over time. Plus (dry) raisins. Overall, however, surprisingly cautious.
    • Taste
Hui, in contrast to the nose, the mail goes right here. A wonderful fruit sweetness literally jumps in my face. Behind it a subtle oak note, which only gives the whole thing a pleasant and mature frame. This is sherry aging the way I like it. Pleasantly fruity and sweet, but without appearing too overloaded. It's neither one of those syrup malts, nor does it feel like sucking on a dry wooden board. Just beautiful. The 52% fit here wonderfully and give the malt a certain emphasis, which is still missing on the nose, but arrives here. Well integrated, no missing notes. No sulfur or other "problem notes".
    • Finish
Already gone? No, there he comes again - and then for a long time. The red fruits and strawberries fade a little, then the oak pushes again together with a slight smoky note (?). Yes, there is light smoke that also lingers on the tongue at the end. Overall, however, it is so "drinkable" that one is inclined to refill it.
