A 25 year old single cask, cask strength single malt? for that price? Are you fucking kidding me? How do you do that whiskybroker? Obviously the price to performance ratio of this is amazing. Would I pay what these cunts selling it on here for? Hell Naw!

Classic tobermory nose. very grassy, pears, peaches, a slight maritime medicinal note, slightly sour (sour apricots), vanilla, and a super subtle smoke note. I get more ore less a wonderful fruit salad with a slight medicinal smoke note. NICE!

Very complex! This spreads perfect around the mouth. Vanilla, oak, pears, salt, medicine

Very long, again it starts with pears and apricots, followed up by peaches and a nice oak note that stays in the background, vanilla is there as well. It switches constantly between sweetness, bitterness and smoke.

Exactly my thing from nose to finish beautiful Ex-Bc bottling. Not fruity, but oat and citrus pastries.
    Very balanced.

Very delicate aromas on the nose: slightly floral, slightly citrus. But also a bit musty, like cubes of yeast.
No pears, no apples, no Speysider.
Grasses, herbs, a little sea salt, pastries.
With time, warmth and distance from the glass, it is actually slightly fruity. Pear.

      Vanilla, oats, oak, pastries, ginger.
Can be chewed for a long time.
      Very noble and oily.

      Medium-long finish.
      Still has a nice effect.
This is where I actually find it most fruity.
      Nice pear-hay duo.

    • Nose
somewhat reserved, apricot, lemon, grain, honey, sweet pastries, vanilla, slightly floral, gooseberry, minimally maritime, becomes more tropical over time, mango, pineapple, a little pear
    • Taste
Apricot, mango, gooseberry, peach, honey, pineapple, crass fruit salad, a little lime, a little lemon, dried apricots, wood, becomes a dry finish

£74 for a 25 year old single cask, cask strength Tobermory. It could be gnats' and it'd still be an incredible value. It's not gnats'. It's delish.

Smells a bit sour, like ripe but sour mirabelle plum, plus medicinal. White peach. Also sour wood notes. Maybe very slightly smoky. Roasted peanuts in the background. If the smoke were a little clearer, it would be very close to the 25-year-old Laphroaig from the bourbon barrel. Yes, it really looks like a Laphroaig, if you think of it (almost) without smoke.
    • Taste
      91 91
On the palate it reminds me of the OA Laphroaig 25. Mild, light-fruity acidity (mirabelle plum, white peach, ...), medicinal; fresh, slightly acidic wood. Tastes very pleasant, with optimally integrated alcohol and a good interplay of sweetness, acidity and wood.

If I had tried it blindly, I would have appreciated it a little younger. Maybe 20 years.
    • Finish
      92 92
The finish is very complex with various light fruits, medicinal notes and also with some goat dried meat and a hint of wall color. It's like an old grain. Very noble, finely balanced and long-lasting.

Edit: The empty glass smells like roasted peanuts.

Edit2: The sour wood drifted in sea water for a few days. Together with a walnut salami.

PS: I like the WhB-Tobermory from last year (WID 137031) a little better. This one is too spirit driven. But as "spirit driven" this malt is exceptionally good.
