In full disclosure, it also might have been a sister cask to this one.
Tasted it in a hard lineup, after the event, and I have to say it's easily my favourite Glendronach so far.
The distillery character is clear as day even at this age, it has exquisite creaminess and the bourbon/sherry balance is unparalleled. The mastery of wood is akin to the best batches of TUN 1401, at least in my book. (Meaning what's vatting in case of the Balvenie, is finishing here.)

Mouth coating, oily richness. Everything the nose offers. Dark chocolate and even some tropical fruit notes are added.

Long. Big hit of all the flavours, then mellows to leave Christmas spice and warm chocolate.

What an amazing single malt! Had a dram within the Cadenhead's Virtual Campbeltown Festival tasting pack. Dream bottle!

Initially very sherry forward, and dunnage, this needs time in the glass to let the full glory emerge. Quality wood in evidence with masses of vanilans and some beautiful complex rancio aromas. Beautiful leathery notes with furniture polish and waxes, even boot polish? A little smokiness, perhaps soot. Settles down beautifully. Dried fruits balanced with a little wood astringency. Occassional faint whisps of patis and all sorts of almonds, marzipan, rich frangipan, even some almond skins thrown in. Beautiful beautiful whisky. Likely the initial score will improve with time and a little oxygen.....

Very different to their usual OB single cask offerings and absolutely fantastic. Tried it alongside the grandeur batch 10 and some other aged single casks and was on another level. Full of flavour with a fantastic nose.
