Typical Talisker DNA, delicious as usual, but nothing special in my opinion and more of an all-day dram. As I said, a solid and honest drop in which the PLV is right, the Skye also tastes delicious and is dangerously drinkable ...
    • Nose
Creamy amber rests in the glass, an oily streak sticks to the glass wall of my Premium Snifter, from which long "legs" loosen. Citrus fruits wrapped in smoke rise, mineral smoke appears earthy while sweet caramel and overripe oranges appear at the same time. Maritime echoes are added, honey plays with scraped vanilla pods, a pinch of pepper tickles the nose. Sweet oranges play with smoke and peat, in the background there is a breath of raw sea air and fresh herbs.
    • Taste
The first sip flows mildly and sweetly over the tongue and ends with peat smoke and crushed pepper on the palate. Peppery spiciness suddenly envelops the tongue, chilli and coarse sea salt stimulate the saliva, hazelnuts come into their own with caramel and honey and end fruity on the tongue with zests of oranges and lemons. A second sip also shows this wonderful interplay between peat, smoke, sweetness, sea salt and pepper.
    • Finish
Peat and smoke stick to the palate to be cozy and warm, brine rests on the tongue with a fading note of pepper, hazelnuts swim with spicy oak in the stimulated saliva under the tongue. The sometimes rough and tart aromas are remembered for a medium length of time and finish off with caramel and hazelnuts.

Very young, not worth taking, except at a very good discount.

Generally, Talisker Skye is not bad... the problem is that in my area the sensational (IMHO) Talisker 10 costs exactly the same. For me, the choice is simple, I stick to "Number Ten".
