A wonderfully stringent batch, in which you think at every stage of the tasting: oh come on, pour again ...
    • Nose
Ripe apricots and peaches, served on a stone tray. Mineral notes, sea salt, a little chain fat, honey. A great nose that transports you straight to Campbeltown.
    • Taste
Creamy and dense start. Campbeltown is also pure on the tongue, compared to the 10yo standard, it is more sedate and age-appropriate. Dried apricots, peaches, creme brulee, toffee. Although it also has the typical mineral aromas on the tongue (which are usually rather demanding and bulky), it is mild and velvety without appearing boring in any way.
    • Finish
Medium to long, mildly fruity, mineral (the saltwater-wetted pebble), a hint of smoke.

wonderful expression of Springbank.. and excellent review by Archer (“sedate” with reference to this dram is a good word, but not as in sleepy, but more as in calm, self-contained and softly-spoken).. though no words can ultimately express the sensorial experience and the difference between this 18 and a 10.. having just finished a dram from the 2015 edition of the 10, the 18 seems a gigantically different beast, yet absolutely the same spirit.. but where the 10 is heavy, the 18 is light.. where the 10 punches you with smoke, here the smoke is of violets slowly burning in the heather wind.. the 10 has power, the 18 has style.. only if the finish were deeper! Though i have a bottle of this 18’er, i am in no rush to open it (ty hvdre for the sample experience!)… i am at a point in this journey where i woud rather have power than style!

Beautiful fullness of the nose, it is greedy, on vanilla, pastry cream and biscuits. Some grain reflections, we are in the barn, hay, dry straw, light smoke. Puffed wheat, oats, vegetable milk. The cows are moaning in the distance. On the palate, white fruits, plum, italia grape, mirabelle plums. There too it is creamy and suave, despite, once again, cereals and a light peat. The finish seems a little light to me, sparkling, on cola, cut wheat, boiled rice. Quite long though.

The aroma is intense, bright, sweet. Minerality, industrial theme, fruit and berry mix.
We stood and breathed ..... Canned pineapples, peaches, raspberry jam, spices, raisins, noble tobacco motives.
The taste is juicy and bright. Creamy cream, fruit and berry mix, light smoke, industrial theme, milk chocolate, spicy spices,
The finish is long-lasting sweet with a noble bitterness. Dried fruits, spices, industrial theme, wood.
    Conclusion: Tasty, complex, juicy.
This is love for the product, the consumer and Springbank Societty. Despite the total pursuit of volumes, the quality does not fall from year to year, it at least remains at the same level.

Not my favourite springbank. I little weird at times. Still interesting and unique but I still prefer the standard 10.

On the nose, dry and ripe berries, clearly mineral, maritime, dry and delicately smoky. Heather honey and completely removed freshly lit match.

On the tongue full and expressive, the nose is represented almost 1 to 1. There is also some wax and forest floor. The 46% fit really well here and I wouldn't give it a try.

Medium and red-fruity in the finish, slightly sour and delicately smoky.
