I guess smws tasting notes and their choice of name for this whisky are the worst I have seen in the last couple of years.
Both are uninviting and describe something not really pleasant. But the whisky is really good despite its youth.

N: Lots of smoke, citrus, honey and green fruits. Pine nuts. It is very malt forward, but not entirely new make-y. Full of pastries and then comes a little grease. burnt log and old wood. with water it becomes sherbet-y and syrupy. honey-coated nuts, milk chocolate cake and old cabin.

P: Salty. Eucalyptus. lots of burnt wood. Berries and smoked to burnt nuts, mostly almond. Dark chocolate and tea leaves.
with water salted caramel, mint, raw ginger. It shows that it is a bit hot and young. Milk coffee. Sweet and viscous.

F: very long with spice. smoke and ash. sour fruits.

    SMWS Tasting Notes

The nose suggested muddy leather boots, Brasso cloths, smoked sea salt and incense – then we were walking on old railway sleepers laid over shale through a eucalyptus forest. The palate was medicinal (Vicks VapoRub, Buckley’s cough medicine) but also had pickles, salted crackers, wood embers, Elastoplast, liquorice imps, black tea leaves, tar, coal smoke and chimney scrapings. The reduced nose discovered mothballs, Camp coffee, TCP, creosote and we pictured eating salt and vinegar crisps by a log cabin fireside; eventually honey, menthol sweets and Kendal mint cake emerged. On the palate now, prawn cocktail and smoky bacon crisps, hints of ouzo and old herbal liqueurs.
