    On the nose it is my preferred sherry profile - not water needed, on the palate there is some water needed due to the high abv, there is a leathery note and clearly some dirt - overall very good and drinkable (with some water) for an 8yo
    • Nose

      Lots of dried fruits, plums, prunes, figs, old wooden cabinet, cooked oranges, apricot jam, spices, little nutmeg and cinnamon, little meaty notes, ham, bacon, fine peat and smoke, best sherry wood - great!
    • Taste
      92 92
      Punchy, fruity, passion fruit, papaya, subtle sweetness, more peat and smoke, more red fruits, spices, hints of leather, more ham and bacon, cigar tobacco - very good!
    • Finish
      90 90
      Long, burning, little herbal, water recommended

    A fantastic peaty sherry monster highly drinkable despite the ABV.
    One of my favorite Port Charlotte.
    • Nose
      Your typical peaty sherry. Smoke, grilled meat, spices,
      caramel. Huge concentration. Some antiseptic and iodine too. Fantastic.
    • Taste
      So punchy. Your peaty sherry again. Liquorish. Spices.
      With water : No change on the nose. The mouth is more meaty.
    • Finish
      Finish : Loooong, warm.

    Nose: The start begins with pungent alcohol, lots of salt and chilli. Then comes orange, peaty smoke, leather and a lot of minerality (gravel, stones, quartz and sandy beach), but also tobacco leaves, cedar and pickled red fruits. After some time, the pungent sharpness vanishes, and the nose becomes even more balanced. Delicate "farmy notes" develop in the glass.
    Taste: Powerful, creamy and very full-bodied. A powerful smoked spice with everything that belongs to it is on the tongue. Wood, nuts, sherry, fruits, leather, peat, grapefruit and mint. The 66% leave a lot of room for the aromas!
    Finish: Very long - initially on the same basis as the taste, then with increasing wood influence and slightly decreasing sherry. Chocolate, smoky peat and an elegant fruit tone remain behind.
    Note: The nose started a bit weaker at first (scoring), but still scored 93 points later!

    Superb! I loved this whisky when I first tasted it at the Islay Festival this year, so much so that I bought a bottle. What was even better was it was still great when I was back home and sober.

    A perfect balance of peat and sherry.

    A must have bottle for peat freaks.

    Very impressed you got one of these ! Exceptional whisky no doubts, a gentle long peated dram with very broad fruity aromas ... I highly recommend if have the chance to get your hand on one of these ... only 286 bottles from this single cask. If interested I have some links let me know,

    I tasted this wonderful whisky at this year's Feis Ile. The best way to sum it up is that it is like a peaty Mortlach.
