Nose:
Fresh grassy, but in a good way. Softly sweet, not overpowering. Nectar, lychee, grapefruit, fresh slightly sour white flowers, almond meal, rumraisins, hint of chocolate milk with alcohol or alcoholcherry bonbons. Cucumber. After a while, some honey comes through, but it all remains somewhat fresh, slightly acidic and modest. It does have complexity, but I miss fullness, there's no umami or saltiness. There should be some smoke in it, but I don't find it. It is in itself a nice complex scent, with plenty to explore. It's not quite my thing though. 77/100
Taste:
Sweet at first, very soft and comfortable on the tongue. honey with hints of chestnut and flowers. Fruit salad of; apples, lychee, unripe nectarina. Something faint that reminds me of methylated spirit, too bad. White grapes, almost sparkling white wine. A little dry oak, pink peppercorns. The moment of swallowing is a taste explosion of fruit, spice, flowers and sweetness. The balance between soft sweetness and almost sparkling, fresh and pungent is exceptional 82/100
Finish:
Long and pleasant, the heat builds with some pepper. ginger. Creamy milk chocolate, a hint of ground espresso beans and some almond. I love this finish! The finish goes on and on and on. At the end, the slightly sour lychee returns but now a lot more pleasant than in the aroma. Very good! 86/100
Closing:
The aroma is a bit too light and acidic for me, I miss some fullness and impact here. Not quite my cup of tea. However, the taste is good and I can appreciate it. The aftertaste sublime! I think the great thing about this whisky is that it seems to get better with every sip. Each time you discover something new or it comes in just a little bit different.
