a whisky which just gets better with time
    wonderful
    • Nose
      92 92
Dessert has arrived. Stewed fruits, we are in bramble country. Countryside pies, bramble, blackcurrant, raspberry, Blackberry all thrown together in a pastry and baked, the aroma coming from the oven is enchanting. Milk chocolate with a gentle spice ontop, some honeyed apple sponge cake also on the plate.
With time new dimensions in the nose, maraschino cherries, getting better with time.
    • Taste
      89 89
Brown sugar followed immediately by a big blast of spice, plenty of tingling on the tongue from nutmeg and cinnamon. Nuttiness coming in quickly, holding on palate starts to bring some sweetness, that pie filling is creeping in.
    • Finish
      89 89
Finish is caramel, muscavado sugar, chocolate and oak. Very long finish.

Probably the best whisky I've ever drunk (so far), Glendronach has done it again. I've never been disappointed with a GD before, and this is no exception. Will develop somewhat with water.

    (Rating interval 92-97)
    • Nose
Dates, sweetness, acidic lemon juice, fresh sawdust, nutmeg, cedarwood (humidor), acrylic paint, soft gingerbread, oloroso sherry, wood polish, cardamom, dark trecle, molasses.
    • Taste
Powerful, acidic, almonds, a mix of sweet and sour, candid sugar, tons of raisins, coffee, brine, dark chocolate, chili, liquirice, awesomeness.
    • Finish
      Long and completely awesome.

Smell good, but too young and thin to be a big one. Important, he is not peated. Like that he is ok for drinking, but not a PX or Sherry monster. PX-taste is not strong enough for me, an i like PX-Whiskys. For Scotch--drinkers its maybe a highlight, but not for me. In the nose he is better than after in the glas. He need a little bit more Alcohol, 52,2% is to close to siroup of my open bottle 474/522. But its not only the problem of Alcohol, he is not good enough. If you want a 3cl Sampler, you can ask me. Chichibu PX Casks 2628, 2629 and 2630 are much better (and more expensive too). One more time, i have enough from Scotch for next future. The good Japanese Whiskys are much better, also the good Kavalan from Taiwan.
I heb deze whisky met 88 punten. :-)) (used google translater)
    • Nose

Pretty sophisticated PX smell. One thinks that is good
    • Taste
      86 86
I do not know what others say, but I smell the PX grape the way PX smells. I can not recognize chocolate and raspberries, as well as koreans. That's nonsense.
    • Finish
      88 88
A taste explosion - no indication. The is compared to the 52 Seat, the red maple or BA 2016 of Chichibu a wallflower. Sorry guys, but spend a little more, then you have a real good PX. I would never buy this one again. Too narrow on the chest. On balance - 88 punk, even 86 would be possible. Only in the nose, there he is good.

I'am sorry, i have written this note in german language, and without writing errors. It's a little bit like Old Smuggler Scotch for $ 20 or Royale Crown Rye from Murray

This might just be one of the best drams I have ever had.

    (Rating interval 89-95)
    • Nose
Oilpaint, tobacco, fresh leather, sherry spices as
cinnamon, cardamom, carnation and nutmeg. Also ginger bread, molasses and
      treacle.
    • Taste
Explosion of spices, sweet and sour at the same
time, we have raisins, coffee, cocoa, warm banana and brown sugar. Mixed nuts
      as well.
    • Finish
The finish is long and lingering with cinnamon, chili, dark chocolate and table salt.

not that much to add to the notes below

overall: a well balanced GD from a great px-cask with chipolata custard in the taste (seizoensvla van Campina)  90p.

  10. Sonett scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

    • Nose
Sweet toffee, plums, dates, figs and everything that belongs to sherry casks, including a touch of oak
    • Taste
Comes in with a very sweet entry of sherry fruits followed by spices growing in strength
    • Finish
Long finish of sherried fruits ending and fading out in oak
