Edradour 2008 Sherry Butt 12 Years, Cask 34 Natural Cask Strength is a great sherry board! Look at the color, you can only get it with a first fill cask.

Anyone who likes sherry whiskys like me cannot avoid bottling. In my opinion it is also much more complex than Cask 35. Price-performance ratio is a clear recommendation!

What else can you say? For me the best 12 year old I've had in my glass so far. It's amazing what you can get out of mature at the age of 12. The barrel must have been great. The color speaks for itself.

The price-performance ratio fits. I've had a few Edradours in my glass so far and this is by far the best. The flavor of the small stills paired with this barrel influence make it super complex. Dried fruits, fruit compote, cinnamon, coffee. All notes that I really like.

If you like, you can add some water then open it properly. You get an absolute premium whisky here. Take it. If people find out what kind of board it is, it will be sold out quickly.

94 points are justified for me, but it's also exactly my direction. Can also be too violent for one or the other. If you are more of the soft type. Do not touch it

When I see people giving the whisky 80 points, I can only shake my head. Please don't buy whisky in the future. I think you should rather drink cola.

Great and strong on the nose. Taste and finish, on the other hand, clearly fall off. After the smell (88 points) the whisky is unfortunately quite disappointing. In my opinion completely overpriced (average value 103 €) and valued far too high (at the moment 91.30).

Aroma: dark fruits, cinnamon. Plum, honey, which together is reminiscent of plum liqueur. Some fresher fruit is also included. Nutmeg. With a little water it becomes quite creamy.

    Taste: dark fruits, oak.

Finish: Too bitter for my taste at the beginning, not a pleasant kind of bitter either. Some coffee, later some mint. A little nutty. Cinnamon again, like in the smell.

Very dark fruity and intense. The keg did an extremely good job. However, the distillate cannot completely convince me and for more than 90 points I lack depth and complexity. In addition, the exit is not sufficient for more points.

What a bottle. Doesn't just stand out from the other bottlings in terms of color. Super barrel !! Chocolate, tender oak, dark fruits, oily with cinnamon and coffee ... Better than a Glendronach Single Cask of similar age

In addition to the properties already mentioned, I would like to mention that if it has been a while since the bottle was opened for the first time and the whisky has worked a bit, the sherry character comes to the fore. Then the whisky tastes more balanced to me, a little fresher, not that heavy in taste. Don't get me wrong the original character is still preserved, but it goes a bit in the direction of Oloroso Sherry. I like it even better then.

Nice sherry whisky, from a good barrel. The finish, however, is not entirely harmonious and you can see that the barrel made up a large part of the result.

i think this is one of the darkest malts i ever had. a true sherry atomic bomb. the cask strength does its job on this one. after the sample i think i should get a bottle of this.

sherry sherry lady, as you would nose a sherry with higher abv, dried plums, raisins, nutmeg, walnuts, strong cheap glühwein, very intense and heavy. dark fruits with aniseed, cloves and pine. biscuits and dark chocolate. very rummy
    • Taste
      93 93
lota of dried dark fruits, stonefruit, dried peaches. much fresher than the nose suggets. christmas in a glas. cinnamon and cloves. sultanas. black currant. hints of tobacco maybe.

lingers off the tongue like a high quality chocolate. very christmassy.

Very good part - one of the stronger sherry boards for 2020 in the key dates. But 10 years ago it was more of a normal part. However, I do not understand how several people can get 93 and 94 points - how do you want to rate the really impressive or old monster malts?

The first association is cat urine without burning. Sweet wood, oak, but not too dominant or overwhelming - I think that's good.
Flambéed caramel or creme brullee. In the middle, sweet sherry, more like Oloroso, leather.
Looks a bit older than he is - this is probably due to the calm he has compared to other sherry boards with these key data.
    • Taste
      88 88
Oh, very tasty is my first thought. Again, luckily, not too clumsy. Sweet dark dried fruits, somehow I find that a little menthol, if I'm not mistaken. The alcohol is nicely integrated.
With the second sip, however, a little more alcohol and alcohol doesn't change it much.
On the palate very straightforward of wood, sherry, tobacco, leather and maybe even a subtle Glen Garioch 15 fruit note.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium, but also a little bit alcoholic.

Good Glen Sherry. I would also have bottled it to sell it to the ones who buy just because of colour and like it if there isn´t even a hint of character of the distillate left.
