The Ardbeg Wee Beastie is the latest addition to the range.
Good value 5 year old Islay. Untamed smoke, tar, pepper and dark chocolate.

Peat, tire rubber, raw meat and a hint of bacon on the nose. Palette brings out great malty smoke, more meat, but that tire rubber tries to ruin the moment (close to being successful). This is not entry level. Finish is pleasant but I wish the rubber was not a part of it. Now it’s bandaids. Tire bandaids. Not in a bad way just in a hmm way.

What's to be said about the new baby of LVMH.... what's not been said? Depending on the batch will strongly depend on the mark... The first batch is SIGNIFCANTLY better than the following; the batch I tried I was kind to - since tryiong some other batches I'de drop my mark 12-15 pts. It's shite whisky but typical of Arbed DB production.

This is not whisky to savour, this isn't whisky to enjoy - it's drinking whisky. It's a smoke bomb with little else to offer, hence the wee beastie designation IMO. I know the marketing is amazing; the profits will be legendary... but at heart it's proof that they nolger care about the true whisky lovers out there it seems...

It's olive juice, burnt citrus pith, brine and smoke..... that's aboput it. It's very typical Ardbeg nose, loads of go and little show in the palate. Funny enough it doesn't even taste like peat smoke; if Scotland came out with Liquid Smoke - this is it.

You'll know if when you taste it.

Uhhh, this part isn't going to be pretty... olive juice stays and tyhen wet gym socks. Hard working sweat; tar (not the pleaset Ardmore one) and Rose' lime marmalade melted into rubbing alcohol cut with old workout gear from your colleague that smoke 3 packs a day. Yeah, it's not my fave; maybe the finish will redeem it?

Smoke, thin spirit... there's something else there but I'm not sure I can ID it and I'm not sure I want too. I don't like this at all; it's an Ardbeg lover's dream... all smoke - no go.
