Whisky Reviews for Bruichladdich 1994

1 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 85.50 points

  1. ARDBERG scored this whisky 86 points Connoisseur

Not a very complex whisky, but probably one of the sweetest I ever tried. Keeps you guessing about the casks used. Indications for bourbon & sherry casks are there, but only Jim will know. Another facette for my tasting memory and absolutely worth it at the original 2005 price.

Retasted at a tasting (2cl) - overall score is the same. Less sweet than I remember.
    • Nose

williams pears paired with big sweetness, faint vanilla, "Maggi" turning into light dry sherry, green (youngish), quite strong despite the abv
    • Taste
      85 85
sweetness smothers almost everything, some pears but now predominantly a mouthful of liquid marshmallows and again sweet sweet sweet but not much else
    • Finish
      86 86
finish is quite long if you chew it well, marshmellows and sweetness, quite gentle but lingering in the mouth but more or less gone in the throat, some pears remain on the tongue and some dry sherry/maggi, some late warmth in the lower throat
