A malty-yeasty-meaty basic character, in which the PX finish shows itself for me with Little Red Riding Hood juice (iron and red fruits). I like the oak on the palate, but otherwise I find it a bit too musty and perfumed, that's a special combination of aromas. The finish is also quite weak in my opinion, so that I come to a mediocre overall conclusion with this Dailauine. Takes getting used to, okay, but I don't have to have it again. Nevertheless, I am happy to have worked my way into the special meaty, sulphurous and perfumed character that Dailuaine can sometimes display.

Cereal porridge, beer pomace. Iron-containing, dark red-fruity Red Riding Hood juice. Yeasty and meaty, umami, but quite subtle, I would describe it as boiled pork, pea soup, soy sauce (as I said, these are very subtle flavors!). The next time I smell, I have creamy cheesecake and raspberry candy. Cinnamon and some gingerbread flavor. A few tobacco leaf and roasted coffee moments, with nutmeg and turmeric. But also sweet, earthy sandalwood. From there, my perception then also goes in a vegetable, vegetable direction. Not that easy to describe and, in my opinion, a bit inharmonious.

Slightly rotten looking wood that also bites a little. Somewhat sulphurous-putrid-meaty. Iron juice and tart red fruits, which then become sweeter towards plum, strawberry and raspberry. As is often the case with Dailuaine for me, it looks specially perfumed, you have to like it. The wood shows up with nutmeg.

Very mild, almost a bit watery, with the first sip I first have a "hole" in which I can no longer perceive much. Then a spicy oak load builds up, which is accompanied by this special, slightly metallic iron juice aroma and brown sugar. After a few sips, I have a note of raspberry bubblegum.

Wow, I don't believe it !!!! DAILUAINE simply always has that classic UHU adhesive grade. Reminds me again and again of my sniffing bag with sins of youth
    • Nose
Sherry, raisins, leather and behind that UHU
    • Taste
52%, alcohol included in a liqueur, creamy, spicy sherry notes, plums, raisins, apriots, figs and, behind them, the adhesive UHU
    • Finish
Long with blackberries, leather, dried fruit, slightly sulphured and of course glue

      I really like it.

Very nice sherried whisky, typical red fruits and some spicyness, certainly no oversherried bomb.
In the nose at some moments the alcohol punches some, in body and finish it is well integrated.

Initially a very strong alcohol punch. Red fruits, berries, prunes. Later on the punch is gone, making the nose smooth yet full. Spicy, some cinnamon.
    • Taste
      89 89
Powerful, pepper, spicy. Fruity again, red fruits, berries, prunes, with a sour edge underneath, some citrus like sourness.
    • Finish
      88 88
Very full, still a little pepper remains, with again some nice red fruits, berries. Winegums, cassis. Some chocolate now as well. Pretty long finish with a little bitter touch now.

wonderfully fruity malt. The alcohol is very well integrated. Delicious. I like it very much.
    • Nose
Strong dark fruits, dried fruits, plums, raisins, slightly sweet, a little vanilla, slightly spicy, the alcohol is wonderfully integrated. Slight hint of pine needles
    • Taste
nice fruity and spicy start, dark fruits, berries, plums, dried fruits, a bit citrus-fruity, becoming creamy, slightly sweet with vanilla, a bit nutty.
    • Finish
fruity, strong merging into spicy. The fruits are very intense here too. Medium length

Blind tasting in the blue blinders

On the nose, dark, sticky malt, toffee, sherry sweetness like PX. Definitely strong as a barrel, but round and good - bet on 52% and about 14 yo.

On the palate again a nice round and dark sweetness,, light wood and here more 50% / 14yo.
