Whisky reviews for Glen Keith 1992 MSWD

10 users have left 10 reviews for this whisky. Average rating is 88.60 points.

  1. Monte Gehro scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Very nice specimen of a long-standing ex-BC maturation.

With time in the open bottle, it just got better and more balanced. Also the glue note, which was noticed by some of the note writers, became less and less concise.
    • Nose
      90 90
Orange, spicy forest honey, oak sawdust. Herbs and spices like pine needles on Waldbogden. Initially still clearly alcoholic, this decreases significantly with the standing time in the glass.
    • Taste
      90 90
Sweet, brown sugar, orange, honey, oak spice.
    • Finish
      89 89
Long lasting, sweet and spicy without bitterness.

    • Nose
Sticky, floral, grassy, not quite ripe bananas, oatmeal, strawberry, over time the bananas ripen and it gains sweetness, light caramel
    • Taste
Very orange. Significantly more alcoholic than the nose suggests. Sweet, sour, tart, oak, (citrus) fruit,
    • Finish
Orange peel / blood orange, fruity, slightly bitter.

  5. holborndrinker scored this whisky 84 points Connoisseur

A big, powerful whisky - quite an eye opener.
    • Nose

      Shoe polish, leather, putty
    • Taste

Big mouth feel - an explosion in the mouth, some sourness, quite beefy.

      84 84
      Medium length - lingers.

Full on Pattex - and we love Pattex! Sister cask to the famous Ben Nevis from JW's Cross Hill, perhaps?... ;)

  8. WhiskyCasual scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

At the beginning glue, but it gets less. Lovage. nice sherry. Doesn't need any water imho

  9. torstenB scored this whisky 79 points Expert Senior

I feel this is kind of a tough bottling, acetone, ethyl acetate.
    High on Pattex glue.

There are original bottlings from Glen Keith which are way better than this.

    79 points - dismissed
