No notes, tasted at a show but what can say is that this is a great whisky for the price and perhaps a good introduction to islay peat , which is on the gentle to medium side.

It's a good and solid whisky. You get what you expect from an Islay malt with a nice price value level. Peat, sea salt, camp fire, leather, sweetness and a long finish. The Scarabus is definitely recommendable but comparable to the exclusive Islay bombs.

Yes, it's a typical islay malt, not from the south coast more the north east. There is heavy peat, seaweed, algae, sea salt and some sweetness
    • Taste

Warm ashes, glow, barbecue flavours and more sweetness and salt. Reminds me of salted caramel.
    • Finish
      84 84
Very long with leather and surprisingly more spices than expected. It's like a campfire at the beach

20 20 20 20 80 - good to drink, but in the summer heat it is not so effective!

Appears as not so young. About the distillery i was told it is the new Ardnahoe distillery...
    • Nose
      Not much on the nose.
    • Taste
leathery and even bitter, similar to the Elixir bottling of Caol Ila
    • Finish
dry aftertaste, similar to Ardbeg a bit but without the nice peat smell.
