Tropical fruits immediately jump out the glass; its pineapple slices, fresh mangoes, apricots and peaches. There's a base of malt, it's like a bowl of breakfast porridge with a dollop of honey.
With time the fruitiness gains the addition of soft oak and the development of herbal and grassy notes.
Sourness on arrival, some sharp lemon notes and some fizzy sherbet. Oak arrives on the tongue, adding an additional sour note to match the lemons. Some floral notes in the middle, think of a fresh bouquet to welcome in the spring.
But the most dominating note here is the oak, the age is showing on this palate. There's a fruits and vanilla trying to break through the oak won't let up.
Long finish with plenty of oak.
