The Secret Speyside in the Premium Snifter shimmers slightly rust-colored, long and oily "legs" stick to the glass wall and find their way back into the glass. Nutty with a hint of dried fruit, hints of caramel and old toffee, subtly resinous with dark forest honey, with crumbs of dark chocolate and a pinch of dried herbs. Elegant with an old character, the sherry aromas on the nose are extremely clear and distinct. Currants with a handful of morello cherries, dates and raisins, a pinch of sugar dissolves from the dark chocolate note, herbs and spices are added again. Right now I'm being distracted by the incredibly thick and syrupy "legs" on the glass wall, then I treat myself to a few deep puffs on this wonderful nose ...
The Speysider sloshes gently through the mouth, dried grapes and berries beat against the cheeks, spicy wood tones follow with dark honey and a taste of "dark deep forest". Gradually, a pinch of pepper envelops the tongue and massively stimulates the flow of saliva. Chocolate sticks to the palate, dark forest honey drips from the tongue, ripe red berries roll through the mouth and end up as dried raisins on the tip of the tongue. The elegant style of the nose is also reflected in the taste and gives the taste a special character.
Dark fruits with honey and caramel stick to the palate, slightly tart and sour, fresh herbs and spices dissolve from spicy wood tones, hazelnuts come up and end again slightly resinous with pine needles on the tip of the tongue. Now and then there is a subtle spiciness on the tongue, hints of burnt sugar merge with dried fruits and a fine mint note.
